2 Авраам роди Исаак; Исаак роди Якова; Яков роди Юда и братята му;
3 Юда роди Фареса и Зара от Тамар; Фарес роди Есрона; Есрон роди Арама;
4 Арам роди Аминадава; Аминадав
5 Салмон роди Вооза от Рахав; Вооз роди Овида от Рут; Овид роди Есея;
6 а Есей роди цар Давида; цар Давид роди Соломона от Уриевата жена;
7 Соломон роди Ровоама; Ровоам роди Авия; Авия роди Аса;
8 Аса роди Йосафата; Йосафат роди Йорама; Йорам роди Озия;

14 Азор роди Садока; Садок роди Ахима; Ахим роди Елиуда;
15 Елиуд роди Елеазара; Елеазар роди Матана; Матан роди Якова;
16 а Яков роди Йосифа, мъжа на Мария, от която се роди Исус, Който се нарича Христос*(Помазаник или Месия.)
17 И така, всичките родове от Авраама до Давида са четиринадесет; от Давида до преселението във Вавилон, четиринадесет рода; и от преселението във Вавилон до Христа, четиринадесет рода.
18 А рождението на Исуса Христа*(Помазаника) беше така: след като бе сгодена майка Му Мария за Йосифа, преди да бяха се съединили тя се намери непразна от Святия Дух.
19 А мъжът й Йосиф, понеже беше праведен, а пък не искаше да я изложи, намисли да я напусне тайно.
20 Но, когато мислеше това, ето, ангел от Господа му се яви насъне и каза: Йосифе, сине Давидов, не бой се да вземеш жена си Мария; защото зачнатото в нея е от Святия Дух.
21 Тя ще роди син, и ще Му наречеш името Исус*(Спасител); защото Той ще спаси людете Си от греховете им.
22 А всичко това стана за да се сбъдне реченото от Господа чрез пророка, който казва:
23 “Ето девицата ще зачне и ще роди син; и ще му нарекат името Емануил” (което значи, Бог с нас).
24 И тъй, Йосиф, като стана от сън, стори както му заповяда ангелът от Господа и взе жена си;
25 но не я познаваше докато тя роди [първородния си] син; и нарече Му името Исус.

17 И тъй, всички родове от Авраама до Давида са четиринайсет рода; и от Давида до Вавилонското преселение – четиринайсет рода; и от Вавилонското преселение до Христа – четиринайсет рода.
18 (J)А рождението на Иисуса Христа стана тъй: след сгодяване на майка Му Мария за Иосифа, преди още да бяха се те събрали, оказа се, че тя е непразна от Духа Светаго.
19 А Иосиф, мъж ѝ, понеже беше праведен и не желаеше да я осрами, поиска тайно да я напусне.
20 Но когато намисли това, ето, Ангел Господен му се яви насъне и каза: Иосифе, син Давидов, не бой се да приемеш Мария, жена си; защото заченалото се в нея е от Духа Светаго;
21 (K)тя ще роди Син, и ще Му наречеш името Иисус; защото Той ще спаси народа Си от греховете му.
22 А всичк о това стана, за да се сбъдне реченото от Господа чрез пророка, който каза:
23 (L)„ето, девицата ще зачене в утробата си и ще роди Син, и ще Му нарекат името Емануил“,[a] което ще рече: с нас е Бог.
24 Като стана от сън, Иосиф направи, както му бе заповядал Ангелът Господен, и прие жена си.
25 (M)И не познаваше я, докле тя роди своя първороден Син; и той Му нарече името Иисус.

2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
3 And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
4 And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
5 And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.

Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,(H)
3 Judah the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar,(I)
Perez the father of Hezron,
Hezron the father of Ram,
4 Ram the father of Amminadab,
Amminadab the father of Nahshon,
Nahshon the father of Salmon,
5 Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab,(J)

17 Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Messiah.
Joseph Accepts Jesus as His Son
18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about[d]: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.(S) 19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet[e] did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce(T) her quietly.
20 But after he had considered this, an angel(U) of the Lord appeared to him in a dream(V) and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[f](W) because he will save his people from their sins.”(X)
22 All this took place to fulfill(Y) what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”[g](Z) (which means “God with us”).
24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel(AA) of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.(AB)
