3 ^(A)Ето, Аз пращам Ангела Си, и той ще приготви пътя пред Мене, и внезапно ще дойде в храма Си Господ, Когото вие търсите, и Ангелът на завета, Когото вие желаете; ето, Той иде, казва Господ Саваот.

²И кой ще издържи деня на дохождането Му, и кой ще устои, кога се Той яви? Защото Той е като огън, който разтопява, и като луга, която очистя;

³^(B)и ще седне да претопява и чисти сребро, ще очисти синовете на Левия и ще ги претопи като злато и като сребро, за да принасят жертва Господу с правда.

⁴Тогава ще бъде благоприятна Господу жертвата на Иуда и Иерусалим, както в стародавни дни и както в предишни години.

⁵И ще дойда при вас за съд и ще бъда бърз изобличител на магьосници и прелюбодеи, и на ония, които се кълнат лъжливо и задържат заплатата на наемника, притесняват вдовица и сираче и отблъсват пришълец, и от Мене се не боят, казва Господ Саваот.

⁶^(C)Защото Аз съм Господ, Аз се не изменям; затова вие, синове Иаковови, не бидохте унищожени.

⁷^(D)От дните на бащите си отстъпихте от наредбите Ми и не ги спазвате; обърнете се към Мене, и Аз ще се обърна към вас, казва Господ Саваот. Вие ще кажете: как да се обърнем?

⁸Може ли човек да обира Бога? А вие Ме обирате. Ще кажете: с какво Те обираме? – С десятъка и приносите.

⁹С проклятие сте проклети, защото вие – целият народ – Ме обирате.

¹⁰^(E)Донесете всички десятъци във влагалището, та да има храна в Моя дом, и поне в това Ме изпитайте, казва Господ Саваот: няма ли да отворя за вас отворите небесни и няма ли да излея върху ви благословение до излишък?

¹¹Зарад вас ще забраня на ония, които поглъщат, да изтребват у вас земните плодове, и лозата на полето у вас няма да се лиши от плодовете си, казва Господ Саваот.

¹²^(F)И блажени ще ви наричат всички народи, защото ще бъдете земя желана, казва Господ Саваот.

¹³^(G)Дръзки пред Мене са думите ви, казва Господ. Ще кажете: какво говорим против Тебе?

¹⁴^(H)Казвате: напразно е служенето Богу, и каква полза, че пазехме наредбите Му и ходехме в печална дреха пред лицето на Господа Саваота?

¹⁵^(I)И сега ние считаме надменните щастливи: по-добре се нареждат ония, които вършат беззакония, и, ако и да изкушават Бога, остават цели.

¹⁶^(J)Но ония, които се боят от Бога, казват един другиму: внимава Господ и чува това, и пред лицето Му се пише паметна книга за ония, които се боят от Бога и почитат името Му.

¹⁷^(K)И те ще бъдат Мои, казва Господ Саваот, Моя собственост в оня ден, който ще приготвя, и ще ги милувам, както милува човек сина си, който му служи.

3 万军之耶和华说：“我要差遣我的使者为我开路。你们所寻求的主必突然来到祂的殿中。你们所期盼的那位立约的使者快要来了！” ²然而，祂来临的日子，谁能承受得了呢？祂出现的时候，谁能站立得住呢？因为祂像炼金之火，又像漂白衣裳的碱。 ³祂要坐下来，像炼净银子的人那样洁净利未的子孙，像熬炼金银一样熬炼他们，使他们凭公义向耶和华献祭。 ⁴这样，犹大和耶路撒冷所献的祭物就会蒙耶和华悦纳，如同以往的日子、从前的岁月。

⁵万军之耶和华说：“我要来到你们当中施行审判，速速作证指控那些行邪术的、通奸的、起假誓的、克扣工人薪水的、欺压寡妇孤儿的、冤枉异乡人的，以及不敬畏我的。

十分之一奉献

⁶“我耶和华永恒不变，所以你们这些雅各的子孙才没有灭绝。” ⁷万军之耶和华说：“从你们祖先开始，你们就常常偏离我的律例，不肯遵从。现在你们要转向我，我就转向你们。可是你们竟然说，‘我们怎么转向你呢？’ ⁸人怎可抢夺上帝的东西呢？可是你们不但抢夺我的东西，还说，‘我们在何事上抢过你的东西呢？’

“你们在十分之一的奉献和其他供物上抢夺我的东西。 ⁹举国上下都是如此，所以你们必受咒诅。” ¹⁰万军之耶和华说：“你们要把当纳的十分之一全部送到我的仓库，使我的殿中有粮。你们这样试试，看我会不会为你们打开天上的窗户，把祝福倾倒给你们，直到无处可容。” ¹¹万军之耶和华说：“我必为你们驱除害虫，不许它们毁坏你们地里的出产，你们田间的葡萄必不会未熟先落。” ¹²万军之耶和华说：“万国必称你们为有福的，因为这地方必成为一片乐土。”

¹³耶和华说：“你们出言毁谤我，还问，‘我们怎么毁谤你了？’ ¹⁴你们说，‘事奉上帝是虚空的。遵从上帝的吩咐，在万军之耶和华面前痛悔有什么益处？ ¹⁵如今我们称狂傲的人有福，因为作恶的人凡事顺利，他们虽然试探上帝，却仍能逃过灾祸。’”

The Coming Messenger

3 “Behold, ^(A)I send My messenger,
And he will ^(B)prepare the way before Me.
And the Lord, whom you seek,
Will suddenly come to His temple,
^(C)Even the Messenger of the covenant,
In whom you delight.
Behold, ^(D)He is coming,”
Says the Lord of hosts.

²“But who can endure ^(E)the day of His coming?
And ^(F)who can stand when He appears?
For ^(G)He is like a refiner’s fire
And like launderers’ soap.
³^(H)He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver;
He will purify the sons of Levi,
And ^[a]purge them as gold and silver,
That they may ^(I)offer to the Lord
An offering in righteousness.

⁴“Then ^(J)the offering of Judah and Jerusalem
Will be ^[b]pleasant to the Lord,
As in the days of old,
As in former years.
⁵And I will come near you for judgment;
I will be a swift witness
Against sorcerers,
Against adulterers,
^(K)Against perjurers,
Against those who ^(L)exploit wage earners and ^(M)widows and orphans,
And against those who turn away an alien—
Because they do not fear Me,”
Says the Lord of hosts.

⁶“For I am the Lord, ^(N)I do not change;
^(O)Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.
⁷Yet from the days of ^(P)your fathers
You have gone away from My ordinances
And have not kept them.
^(Q)Return to Me, and I will return to you,”
Says the Lord of hosts.
^(R)“But you said,
‘In what way shall we return?’

Do Not Rob God

⁸“Will a man rob God?
Yet you have robbed Me!
But you say,
‘In what way have we robbed You?’
^(S)In tithes and offerings.
⁹You are cursed with a curse,
For you have robbed Me,
Even this whole nation.
¹⁰^(T)Bring all the tithes into the ^(U)storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“If I will not open for you the ^(V)windows of heaven
And ^(W)pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.

¹¹“And I will rebuke ^(X)the devourer for your sakes,
So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,
Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,”
Says the Lord of hosts;
¹²“And all nations will call you blessed,
For you will be ^(Y)a delightful land,”
Says the Lord of hosts.

The People Complain Harshly

¹³“Your^(Z) words have been ^[c]harsh against Me,”
Says the Lord,
“Yet you say,
‘What have we spoken against You?’
¹⁴^(AA)You have said,
‘It is useless to serve God;
What profit is it that we have kept His ordinance,
And that we have walked as mourners
Before the Lord of hosts?
¹⁵So now ^(AB)we call the proud blessed,
For those who do wickedness are ^[d]raised up;
They even ^(AC)tempt God and go free.’ ”

A Book of Remembrance

¹⁶Then those ^(AD)who feared the Lord ^(AE)spoke to one another,
And the Lord listened and heard them;
So ^(AF)a book of remembrance was written before Him
For those who fear the Lord
And who ^[e]meditate on His name.

¹⁷“They^(AG) shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts,
“On the day that I make them My ^(AH)jewels.^[f]
And ^(AI)I will spare them
As a man spares his own son who serves him.”
¹⁸^(AJ)Then you shall again discern
Between the righteous and the wicked,
Between one who serves God
And one who does not serve Him.

3 “I will send my messenger,^(A) who will prepare the way before me.^(B) Then suddenly the Lord^(C) you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant,^(D) whom you desire,^(E) will come,” says the Lord Almighty.

²But who can endure^(F) the day of his coming?^(G) Who can stand^(H) when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire^(I) or a launderer’s soap.^(J) ³He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver;^(K) he will purify^(L) the Levites and refine them like gold and silver.^(M) Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness,^(N) ⁴and the offerings^(O) of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the Lord, as in days gone by, as in former years.^(P)

⁵“So I will come to put you on trial. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers,^(Q) adulterers^(R) and perjurers,^(S) against those who defraud laborers of their wages,^(T) who oppress the widows^(U) and the fatherless, and deprive the foreigners^(V) among you of justice, but do not fear^(W) me,” says the Lord Almighty.

Breaking Covenant by Withholding Tithes

⁶“I the Lord do not change.^(X) So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.^(Y) ⁷Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away^(Z) from my decrees and have not kept them. Return^(AA) to me, and I will return to you,”^(AB) says the Lord Almighty.

“But you ask,^(AC) ‘How are we to return?’

⁸“Will a mere mortal rob^(AD) God? Yet you rob me.

“But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’

“In tithes^(AE) and offerings. ⁹You are under a curse^(AF)—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. ¹⁰Bring the whole tithe^(AG) into the storehouse,^(AH) that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates^(AI) of heaven and pour out^(AJ) so much blessing^(AK) that there will not be room enough to store it.^(AL) ¹¹I will prevent pests from devouring^(AM) your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,^(AN)” says the Lord Almighty. ¹²“Then all the nations will call you blessed,^(AO) for yours will be a delightful land,”^(AP) says the Lord Almighty.^(AQ)

Israel Speaks Arrogantly Against God

¹³“You have spoken arrogantly^(AR) against me,” says the Lord.

“Yet you ask,^(AS) ‘What have we said against you?’

¹⁴“You have said, ‘It is futile^(AT) to serve^(AU) God. What do we gain by carrying out his requirements^(AV) and going about like mourners^(AW) before the Lord Almighty? ¹⁵But now we call the arrogant^(AX) blessed. Certainly evildoers^(AY) prosper,^(AZ) and even when they put God to the test, they get away with it.’”

The Faithful Remnant

¹⁶Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard.^(BA) A scroll^(BB) of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared^(BC) the Lord and honored his name.

¹⁷“On the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty, “they will be my^(BD) treasured possession.^(BE) I will spare^(BF) them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son^(BG) who serves him. ¹⁸And you will again see the distinction between the righteous^(BH) and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.^(BI)
