3 (A)Ето Господ, Господ Саваот, ще отнеме от Иерусалим и от Иуда жезъл и тръст, всяка хлебна и всяка водна подкрепа,
2 храбър вожд и воин, съдия и пророк, ясновидец и старец,
3 (B)петдесетник и велможа, съветник, мъдър художник и изкусен гадател.
4 (C)И ще им дам момчета за началници, и деца ще владеят над тях.
5 (D)И в народа един ще угнетява другиго, и всякой – своя ближен; момче безсрамно ще се големее пред старец, и простак – пред велможа.
6 Тогава човек ще се хване за брата си, в челядта на баща си, и ще каже: ти имаш одежда, бъди ни вожд, и тия развалини да бъдат под твоя ръка.
7 (E)А той с клетва ще каже: не мога изцели раните на обществото; и в моята къща няма ни хляб, ни одежда: не ме правете вожд на народа.
8 Тъй се е рушил Иерусалим, и падна Иуда, защото езикът им и делата им са против Господа, оскърбителни за очите на Неговата слава.
9 (F)Изразът на лицето им свидетелствува против тях, и за греха си те разказват открито, както содомци, не крият: горко на душата им! защото сами на себе си навличат зло.
10 (G)Кажете на праведника: блазе му! защото ще яде плодовете на делата си;
11 (H)а на беззаконника – горко му! защото ще има отплата за делата на ръцете му.
12 Притеснители на Моя народ са деца, и жени владеят над него. Народе Мой! твоите вождове те въвеждат в заблуда и са развалили пътя, по който вървиш.
13 (I)Дигна се Господ на съд, – и стои, за да съди народите.
14 Господ влиза в съд със старейшините на Своя народ и с Неговите князе: вие опустошихте лозето; плячкосаното от сиромаха е във вашите къщи;
15 (J)защо притеснявате народа Ми и угнетявате сиромасите? казва Господ, Господ Саваот.
16 (K)И каза Господ: задето дъщерите сионски се гордеят и ходят с вирнати шии и прелъстяват с погледи, и ситно стъпват и с верижки на нозете дрънкат, –
17 Господ ще оголи темето на дъщерите сионски, и ще открие Господ срамотата им;
18 в оня ден Господ ще отнеме хубавите верижки на нозете, всякакви звездички и лунички,
19 обеци, огърлици и ветрила, превези, гривни и пояси, съдовце с миризми и магийски висулки,
20 пръстени и брънки за нос,
21 горна дреха и долна, кърпици и кесийки,
22 светли тънки наметала, превръзки и покривала.
23 И вместо благовоние ще бъде зловоние, и вместо пояс ще бъде въже, и вместо накъдрени коси – плешивина, и вместо широко наметало – тясно вретище, вместо хубост – жигосване.
24 Мъжете ти ще паднат от меч, и юнаците ти – в битка.
25 (L)И портите на столицата ще въздишат и плачат, и тя ще седи опустошена на земята.

Judgment on Judah and Jerusalem
3 For behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts,
(A)Takes away from Jerusalem and from Judah
(B)The[a] stock and the store,
The whole supply of bread and the whole supply of water;
2 (C)The mighty man and the man of war,
The judge and the prophet,
And the diviner and the elder;
3 The captain of fifty and the [b]honorable man,
The counselor and the skillful artisan,
And the expert enchanter.
4 “I will give (D)children[c] to be their princes,
And [d]babes shall rule over them.
5 The people will be oppressed,
Every one by another and every one by his neighbor;
The child will be insolent toward the [e]elder,
And the [f]base toward the honorable.”
6 When a man takes hold of his brother
In the house of his father, saying,
“You have clothing;
You be our ruler,
And let these ruins be under your [g]power,”
7 In that day he will protest, saying,
“I cannot cure your ills,
For in my house is neither food nor clothing;
Do not make me a ruler of the people.”
8 For (E)Jerusalem stumbled,
And Judah is fallen,
Because their tongue and their doings
Are against the Lord,
To provoke the eyes of His glory.
9 The look on their countenance witnesses against them,
And they declare their sin as (F)Sodom;
They do not hide it.
Woe to their soul!
For they have brought evil upon themselves.
10 “Say to the righteous (G)that it shall be well with them,
(H)For they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
11 Woe to the wicked! (I)It shall be ill with him,
For the reward of his hands shall be [h]given him.
12 As for My people, children are their oppressors,
And women rule over them.
O My people! (J)Those who lead you [i]cause you to err,
And destroy the way of your paths.”
Oppression and Luxury Condemned
13 The Lord stands up (K)to [j]plead,
And stands to judge the people.
14 The Lord will enter into judgment
With the elders of His people
And His princes:
“For you have [k]eaten up (L)the vineyard;
The plunder of the poor is in your houses.
15 What do you mean by (M)crushing My people
And grinding the faces of the poor?”
Says the Lord God of hosts.
16 Moreover the Lord says:
“Because the daughters of Zion are haughty,
And walk with [l]outstretched necks
And [m]wanton eyes,
Walking and [n]mincing as they go,
Making a jingling with their feet,
17 Therefore the Lord will strike with (N)a scab
The crown of the head of the daughters of Zion,
And the Lord will (O)uncover their secret parts.”
18 In that day the Lord will take away the finery:
The jingling anklets, the [o]scarves, and the (P)crescents;
19 The pendants, the bracelets, and the veils;
20 The headdresses, the leg ornaments, and the headbands;
The perfume boxes, the charms,
21 and the rings;
The nose jewels,
22 the festal apparel, and the mantles;
The outer garments, the purses,
23 and the mirrors;
The fine linen, the turbans, and the robes.
24 And so it shall be:
Instead of a sweet smell there will be a stench;
Instead of a sash, a rope;
Instead of well-set hair, (Q)baldness;
Instead of a rich robe, a girding of sackcloth;
And [p]branding instead of beauty.
25 Your men shall fall by the sword,
And your [q]mighty in the war.

Judá y Jerusalén serán castigadas
3 Isaías advierte a los habitantes de Judá y Jerusalén:
«¡Fíjense bien!
El Dios todopoderoso
dejará sin pan ni agua
a Jerusalén y al reino de Judá.
2-3 »Dios hará que desaparezcan
el valiente y el guerrero,
el juez y el profeta,
el capitán y el anciano,
el rico y el consejero,
el adivino y el artesano.
4 »Dios pondrá a niños y muchachos
como jefes y gobernantes.
5 La vida se volverá tan difícil
que hasta entre amigos se atacarán.
Los jóvenes insultarán a los viejos
y los pobres a los ricos.
6 Uno le dirá a su hermano:
“Sólo tú puedes gobernar
sobre este montón de ruinas
porque en casa de nuestro padre
al menos tienes ropa que ponerte”.
7 »Pero el otro le responderá:
“En mi casa no tengo comida
ni ropa que ponerme.
Ni se te ocurra hacerme jefe del pueblo;
¡yo no puedo arreglar este desastre!”
8 »Jerusalén se derrumba,
el reino de Judá está en ruinas,
porque allí todos ofenden a Dios.
9 »Todos ellos son culpables;
¡en la cara se les ve!
Nadie esconde sus pecados;
ni siquiera los disimulan.
Se están portando igual
que los habitantes de Sodoma.
Nada bueno les espera;
se están ganando su propio castigo.
10-11 ¡Qué mal le irá al malvado!
¡Dios lo castigará por todo lo que ha hecho!
En cambio, Dios bendecirá al obediente,
y lo recompensará por su buena conducta.
Los malos gobernantes
12 »Los gobernantes engañan a mi pueblo,
y lo llevan por mal camino;
hasta las mujeres y los niños
gobiernan y abusan de la gente.
13 »Dios está por juzgar a su pueblo.
14 Lo llamará a juicio
y les dirá a sus líderes y jefes:
“Ustedes han destruido a mi pueblo querido.
Han robado a los pobres
y han guardado en sus casas
todo lo que se robaron.
15 ¿Con qué derecho abusan de mi pueblo
y maltratan a los pobres?”
»Yo, el Dios todopoderoso,
les juro que así es».
Dios castiga a las mujeres orgullosas
16 Dios les dijo a las mujeres de Jerusalén:
«Mujeres de Jerusalén,
ustedes son tan orgullosas
que andan con la cabeza levantada,
miran a todos con desprecio,
se menean al caminar
y llaman la atención haciendo sonar
los adornos que llevan en los tobillos.
17 Pero yo las dejaré desnudas,
con las cabezas peladas
y llenas de llagas.
18-23 »Mujeres de Jerusalén,
llegará el día en que haré desaparecer
todos los adornos que ustedes usan
en las manos y en los pies,
en la cara y en el cuello,
en el pelo y en las orejas,
en los dedos y en la cintura.
También les quitaré
sus perfumes y sus espejos,
sus mantos y sus bolsos
sus sandalias y sus finos vestidos.
24 »Mujeres de Jerusalén,
hoy andan perfumadas,
mañana olerán mal;
hoy usan cinturón,
mañana usarán una soga;
hoy se visten con ropa fina,
mañana vestirán trapos viejos;
hoy se ven muy hermosas,
mañana estarán llenas de cicatrices;
hoy se peinan con elegancia,
mañana no tendrán nada que peinarse».
25 Dios también dijo:
«Los guerreros de Jerusalén
morirán en el campo de batalla.
26 La gente llorará y se pondrá de luto,
y la ciudad quedará abandonada.
