2 (A)И заповяда Господ на един голям кит да глътне Иона; и биде Иона в утробата на тоя кит три дни и три нощи.
2 И помоли се Иона на своя Господ Бог из китовата утроба
3 (B)и рече: „към Господа извиках в моята скръб, – и Той ме чу; извиках из утробата на преизподнята, – и Ти чу гласа ми.
4 (C)Ти ме хвърли в дълбинето, в сърцето на морето, и струи ме обиколиха, всички Твои води и Твои вълни минуваха над мене.
5 (D)И рекох: отхвърлен съм от Твоите очи; обаче пак ще видя светия Ти храм.
6 (E)Обхванаха ме водите до душата ми, бездна ме заключи; с морска трева биде обвита главата ми.
7 До планинските основи слязох, земята със своите завори ме навеки затвори; но Ти, Господи, Боже мой, ще изведеш душата ми из ада.
8 (F)Когато изнемощя в мене душата ми, аз си спомних за Господа, и моята молитва стигна до Тебе, до светия Ти храм.
9 Ония, които почитат суетни и лъжовни богове, оставиха своя Милосърден,
10 (G)но аз с хвалебен глас ще Ти принеса жертва; което съм обещал, ще изпълня. У Господа е спасението!“
11 (H)И заповяда Господ на кита, и той изхвърли Иона на суша.

2 Entonces oró Jonás a Jehová, su Dios, desde el vientre del pez, 2 y dijo:
«Invoqué en mi angustia a Jehová,
y él me oyó;
desde el seno del seol clamé,
y mi voz oíste.
3 Me echaste a lo profundo,
en medio de los mares;
me envolvió la corriente.
Todas tus ondas y tus olas
pasaron sobre mí.
4 Entonces dije: “Desechado soy
de delante de tus ojos,
mas aún veré tu santo Templo.”
5 Las aguas me envolvieron hasta el alma,
me cercó el abismo,
el alga se enredó en mi cabeza.
6 Descendí a los cimientos de los montes.
La tierra echó sus cerrojos sobre mí para siempre;
mas tú sacaste mi vida de la sepultura,
Jehová, Dios mío.
7 Cuando mi alma desfallecía en mí,
me acordé de Jehová,
y mi oración llegó hasta ti,
hasta tu santo Templo.
8 Los que siguen vanidades ilusorias,
su fidelidad abandonan.
9 Mas yo, con voz de alabanza,
te ofreceré sacrificios;
cumpliré lo que te prometí.
¡La salvación viene de Jehová!»
10 Entonces Jehová dio orden al pez, el cual vomitó a Jonás en tierra.

2 1 [a]From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God. 2 He said:
“In my distress I called(A) to the Lord,(B)
and he answered me.
From deep in the realm of the dead(C) I called for help,
and you listened to my cry.
3 You hurled me into the depths,(D)
into the very heart of the seas,
and the currents swirled about me;
all your waves(E) and breakers
swept over me.(F)
4 I said, ‘I have been banished
from your sight;(G)
yet I will look again
toward your holy temple.’(H)
5 The engulfing waters threatened me,[b]
the deep surrounded me;
seaweed was wrapped around my head.(I)
6 To the roots of the mountains(J) I sank down;
the earth beneath barred me in forever.
But you, Lord my God,
brought my life up from the pit.(K)
7 “When my life was ebbing away,
I remembered(L) you, Lord,
and my prayer(M) rose to you,
to your holy temple.(N)
8 “Those who cling to worthless idols(O)
turn away from God’s love for them.
9 But I, with shouts of grateful praise,(P)
will sacrifice(Q) to you.
What I have vowed(R) I will make good.
I will say, ‘Salvation(S) comes from the Lord.’”
10 And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.
