18 (A)Иосафат имаше много богатство и слава; и сроди се с Ахава.
2 (B)И след няколко години отиде при Ахава в Самария; и закла Ахав много добитък, дребен и едър, за него и за людете му с него и го убеждаваше да идат против Рамот Галаадски.
3 (C)И думаше Ахав, цар израилски, на Иосафата, цар иудейски: ще дойдеш ли с мене в Рамот Галаадски? Той му отговори: както ти ще идеш, тъй и аз, както твоят народ, тъй и моят народ: ще дойда с тебе на война!
4 Още каза Иосафат на царя израилски: попитай днес, какво ще каже Господ.
5 (D)Събра царят израилски четиристотин души пророци и им каза: да идем ли на война против Рамот Галаадски, или да си стоим? Те отговориха: иди, и Господ ще го предаде в ръката на царя.
6 (E)Иосафат попита: няма ли тук още някой пророк Господен, да попитаме и него?
7 Отговори царят израилски на Иосафата: има още един човек, чрез когото може да попитаме Господа; но аз го не обичам, защото той не пророкува добро за мене, а винаги пророкува лошо; той е Михей, син Иемвлаев. Иосафат каза: не говори тъй, царю.
8 (F)Царят израилски повика един скопец и каза: иди скоро повикай Михея, сина Иемвлаев.
9 А царят израилски и Иосафат, цар иудейски, седяха всеки на престола си, облечени в царски одежди, седяха на стъгдата пред Самарийските порти, и всички пророци пророкуваха пред тях.
10 (G)Седекия, син на Хенаана, си беше направил железни рога и каза: тъй говори Господ: с тия ще избодеш сирийците, докле ги изтребиш.
11 И всички пророци пророкуваха същото, думайки: иди против Рамот Галаадски; ще имаш успех, и Господ ще го предаде в ръката на царя.
12 (H)Пратеникът, който отиде да повика Михея, му думаше: ето, пророците едногласно предричат добро на царя; нека и твоята дума бъде такава, като на всекиго от тях: изречи и ти добро.
13 Михей отговори: жив Господ! Каквото ми каже Бог мой, това ще изрека.
14 Дойде при царя, и царят му каза: Михее, да идем ли на война против Рамот Галаадски, или да си стоим? А той отговори: идете, ще имате успех, и те ще бъдат предадени в ръцете ви.
15 Царят му каза: колко пъти ще те заклевам да ми не говориш нищо, освен истината в име Господне?
16 (I)Тогава Михей рече: видях всички синове на Израиля, пръснати по планините като овци без пастир, – и Господ каза: те нямат началник, нека се върне всеки смиром у дома си.
17 Царят израилски каза на Иосафата: не казвах ли ти, че той ми не пророкува добро, а само лошо?
18 Михей пак рече: чуйте тогава Господнята дума: видях Господа, седнал на Своя престол, а всичкото небесно воинство стоеше Нему отдясно и отляво.
19 И каза Господ: кой би подмамил Ахава, израилския цар, да иде и да загине в Рамот Галаадски? И един казваше тъй, други казваше инак.
20 (J)Изстъпи се един дух, застана пред лицето на Господа и каза: аз ще го подмамя. И Господ го попита: с какво?
21 (K)Оня отговори: ще изляза и ще стана дух на лъжата в устата на всичките му пророци. И каза Той: ти ще го подмамиш и ще сполучиш; иди и стори тъй.
22 (L)И сега, ето, Господ допусна да влезе духът на лъжата в устата на тия твои пророци, но Господ изрече недобро за тебе.
23 (M)Тогава пристъпи Седекия, син на Хенаана, та удари на Михея плесница и каза: по кой път премина от мене Духът Господен, за да говори в тебе?
24 (N)А Михей рече: ето, ще видиш това в оня ден, когато ще бягаш от стая в стая, за да се укриеш.
25 Тогава царят израилски каза: вземете Михея и го заведете при градоначалник Амона и при Иоаса, царевия син,
26 и кажете: тъй казва царят: затворете тогова в тъмница и го хранете оскъдно с хляб и вода, докле се върна смиром.
27 А Михей рече: ако се върнеш смиром, то не е говорил Господ чрез мене. И пак рече: чуйте това всички люде!
28 И тръгна царят израилски и Иосафат, цар иудейски, към Рамот Галаадски.
29 (O)И царят израилски каза на Иосафата: аз ще се преоблека и ще вляза в битка, а ти облечи царските си одежди. И преоблече се царят израилски, и влязоха в битка.
30 А сирийският цар заповяда на своите колеснични началници и каза: не бийте се ни с малък, ни с голям, а само с израилския цар.
31 (P)И когато колесничните началници видяха Иосафата, помислиха: това е царят израилски, – и го заобиколиха, за да се ударят с него. Но Иосафат извика, и Господ му помогна, и Бог ги отвърна от него.
32 Щом видяха колесничните началници, че не беше израилският цар, върнаха се от него.
33 (Q)В това време един човек напъна случайно лъка си и рани израилския цар през ставата на бронята му. И той каза на возача: върни назад и ме изведи из войската, защото съм ранен.
34 (R)Но сражението в оня ден се усили; и царят израилски стоя на колесницата срещу сирийци до вечерта и умря по заник слънце.

Micaiah Prophesies Against Ahab(A)
18 Now Jehoshaphat had great wealth and honor,(B) and he allied(C) himself with Ahab(D) by marriage. 2 Some years later he went down to see Ahab in Samaria. Ahab slaughtered many sheep and cattle for him and the people with him and urged him to attack Ramoth Gilead. 3 Ahab king of Israel asked Jehoshaphat king of Judah, “Will you go with me against Ramoth Gilead?”
Jehoshaphat replied, “I am as you are, and my people as your people; we will join you in the war.” 4 But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, “First seek the counsel of the Lord.”
5 So the king of Israel brought together the prophets—four hundred men—and asked them, “Shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I not?”
“Go,” they answered, “for God will give it into the king’s hand.”
6 But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there no longer a prophet of the Lord here whom we can inquire of?”
7 The king of Israel answered Jehoshaphat, “There is still one prophet through whom we can inquire of the Lord, but I hate him because he never prophesies anything good about me, but always bad. He is Micaiah son of Imlah.”
“The king should not say such a thing,” Jehoshaphat replied.
8 So the king of Israel called one of his officials and said, “Bring Micaiah son of Imlah at once.”
9 Dressed in their royal robes, the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah were sitting on their thrones at the threshing floor by the entrance of the gate of Samaria, with all the prophets prophesying before them. 10 Now Zedekiah son of Kenaanah had made iron horns, and he declared, “This is what the Lord says: ‘With these you will gore the Arameans until they are destroyed.’”
11 All the other prophets were prophesying the same thing. “Attack Ramoth Gilead(E) and be victorious,” they said, “for the Lord will give it into the king’s hand.”
12 The messenger who had gone to summon Micaiah said to him, “Look, the other prophets without exception are predicting success for the king. Let your word agree with theirs, and speak favorably.”
13 But Micaiah said, “As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what my God says.”(F)
14 When he arrived, the king asked him, “Micaiah, shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I not?”
“Attack and be victorious,” he answered, “for they will be given into your hand.”
15 The king said to him, “How many times must I make you swear to tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?”
16 Then Micaiah answered, “I saw all Israel(G) scattered on the hills like sheep without a shepherd,(H) and the Lord said, ‘These people have no master. Let each one go home in peace.’”
17 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he never prophesies anything good about me, but only bad?”
18 Micaiah continued, “Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne(I) with all the multitudes of heaven standing on his right and on his left. 19 And the Lord said, ‘Who will entice Ahab king of Israel into attacking Ramoth Gilead and going to his death there?’
“One suggested this, and another that. 20 Finally, a spirit came forward, stood before the Lord and said, ‘I will entice him.’
“‘By what means?’ the Lord asked.
21 “‘I will go and be a deceiving spirit(J) in the mouths of all his prophets,’ he said.
“‘You will succeed in enticing him,’ said the Lord. ‘Go and do it.’
22 “So now the Lord has put a deceiving spirit in the mouths of these prophets of yours.(K) The Lord has decreed disaster for you.”
23 Then Zedekiah son of Kenaanah went up and slapped(L) Micaiah in the face. “Which way did the spirit from[a] the Lord go when he went from me to speak to you?” he asked.
24 Micaiah replied, “You will find out on the day you go to hide in an inner room.”
25 The king of Israel then ordered, “Take Micaiah and send him back to Amon the ruler of the city and to Joash the king’s son, 26 and say, ‘This is what the king says: Put this fellow in prison(M) and give him nothing but bread and water until I return safely.’”
27 Micaiah declared, “If you ever return safely, the Lord has not spoken through me.” Then he added, “Mark my words, all you people!”
Ahab Killed at Ramoth Gilead(N)
28 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead. 29 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will enter the battle in disguise, but you wear your royal robes.” So the king of Israel disguised(O) himself and went into battle.
30 Now the king of Aram had ordered his chariot commanders, “Do not fight with anyone, small or great, except the king of Israel.” 31 When the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat, they thought, “This is the king of Israel.” So they turned to attack him, but Jehoshaphat cried out,(P) and the Lord helped him. God drew them away from him, 32 for when the chariot commanders saw that he was not the king of Israel, they stopped pursuing him.
33 But someone drew his bow at random and hit the king of Israel between the breastplate and the scale armor. The king told the chariot driver, “Wheel around and get me out of the fighting. I’ve been wounded.” 34 All day long the battle raged, and the king of Israel propped himself up in his chariot facing the Arameans until evening. Then at sunset he died.(Q)

18 Josafat llegó a tener grandes riquezas y honores, y emparentó con Ajab. 2 Al cabo de unos años bajó a Samaría a visitar a Ajab, quien sacrificó en su honor y en el de sus acompañantes gran cantidad de ovejas y toros. Luego lo convenció para atacar Ramot de Galaad. 3 Ajab, el rey de Israel, propuso a Josafat, rey de Judá:
— ¿Quieres venir conmigo a Ramot de Galaad?
Josafat le respondió:
— Yo y mi gente estamos a tu disposición e iremos contigo a la guerra.
4 Y Josafat añadió al rey de Israel:
— Consulta antes al Señor.
5 El rey de Israel reunió a unos cuatrocientos profetas y les preguntó:
— ¿Podemos ir a atacar Ramot de Galaad o no?
Ellos le respondieron:
— Puedes ir, porque Dios te la va a entregar.
6 Pero Josafat preguntó:
— ¿No hay por aquí algún profeta del Señor al que podamos consultar?
7 El rey de Israel le respondió:
— Sí, aún queda alguien a través del cual podemos consultar al Señor: Miqueas, el hijo de Jimlá. Pero yo lo detesto, porque no me profetiza venturas, sino siempre desgracias.
Josafat le dijo:
— El rey no debe hablar así.
8 Entonces el rey de Israel llamó a un funcionario y le dijo:
— ¡Que venga inmediatamente Miqueas, el hijo de Jimlá!
9 El rey de Israel y Josafat, el rey de Judá, estaban sentados en sus tronos con sus vestiduras reales, en la plaza de la entrada de Samaría, mientras todos los profetas hacían profecías ante ellos. 10 Sedecías, el hijo de Quenaná, se hizo unos cuernos de hierro y decía:
— El Señor dice: “¡Con estos cuernos embestirás a los arameos hasta aniquilarlos!”.
11 Y todos los profetas profetizaban lo mismo:
— ¡Ataca a Ramot de Galaad, que tendrás éxito! ¡El Señor la entregará al rey!
12 Mientras, el mensajero que había ido a llamar a Miqueas le decía:
— Ten en cuenta que los profetas están anunciado unánimemente la victoria al rey, procura que tu profecía coincida también con la suya y anuncia la victoria.
13 Miqueas contestó:
— ¡Juro por el Señor que sólo le anunciaré lo que me diga mi Dios!
14 Cuando llegó ante el rey, este le preguntó:
— Miqueas, ¿podemos ir a atacar Ramot de Galaad o no?
Él le contestó:
— Ataquen, que tendrán éxito, pues el Señor se la entregará a ustedes.
15 Pero el rey le dijo:
— ¿Cuántas veces tendré que pedirte bajo juramento que me digas sólo la verdad en nombre del Señor?
16 Entonces Miqueas dijo:
— He visto a todo Israel disperso por los montes como un rebaño sin pastor y el Señor decía: “No tienen dueño; que vuelvan en paz a sus casas”.
17 El rey de Israel dijo a Josafat:
— ¿Qué te decía yo? No me profetiza venturas, sino desgracias.
18 Miqueas añadió:
— Por eso, escuchen la palabra del Señor. He visto al Señor sentado en su trono y toda la corte celeste estaba de pie, a su derecha y a su izquierda. 19 El Señor preguntó: “¿Quién confundirá a Ajab, el rey de Israel, para que ataque a Ramot de Galaad y perezca?”. Unos decían una cosa y otros, otra. 20 Entonces un espíritu se presentó ante el Señor y le dijo: “Yo lo confundiré”. Y el Señor preguntó: “¿Cómo lo harás?”. 21 Él respondió: “Iré y me convertiré en espíritu de mentira en boca de todos sus profetas”. A lo que el Señor dijo: “¡Conseguirás confundirlo! Vete y hazlo así”. 22 Ahora ya sabes que el Señor ha inspirado mentiras a estos profetas tuyos y ha anunciado tu desgracia.
23 Entonces Sedecías, el hijo de Quenaná, se acercó a Miqueas, le dio una bofetada y le dijo:
— ¿Es que me ha abandonado el espíritu del Señor para hablarte a ti?
24 Miqueas le respondió:
— Tú mismo lo verás el día en que vayas escondiéndote de casa en casa.
25 Entonces el rey de Israel ordenó:
— Agarren a Miqueas, entréguenselo a Amón, el gobernador de la ciudad, y al príncipe Joel 26 y díganles: “El rey ha ordenado que lo metan en la cárcel y que le racionen el pan y el agua hasta que el rey regrese sano y salvo”.
27 Miqueas le dijo:
— Si consigues regresar sano y salvo, es que el Señor no ha hablado por mi boca.
28 El rey de Israel y Josafat, el rey de Judá, fueron a atacar Ramot de Galaad. 29 El rey de Israel dijo a Josafat:
— Yo voy a disfrazarme para entrar en combate, pero tú conserva tus vestiduras reales.
Así que el rey de Israel entró en combate disfrazado. 30 El rey de Siria había ordenado a sus jefes de carros que no atacasen ni a soldados ni a oficiales; sólo al rey de Israel. 31 Cuando los jefes de carros vieron a Josafat creyeron que se trataba del rey de Israel y se dispusieron a atacarlo; pero Josafat se puso a gritar y el Señor lo ayudó, apartándolos de él, 32 pues cuando los jefes de los carros se dieron cuenta de que no era el rey de Israel, dejaron de perseguirlo. 33 Entonces un soldado lanzó una flecha al azar que hirió al rey de Israel, entrando por las juntas de la coraza. Inmediatamente el rey ordenó al conductor de su carro:
— Da la vuelta y sácame del campo de batalla, que estoy herido.
34 Pero en aquel momento la batalla se recrudeció tanto, que el rey tuvo que aguantar en su carro haciendo frente a los sirios hasta el atardecer, y a la caída del sol murió.
