Wisdom from the Spirit

⁶ Yet among ^(A)the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not ^(B)a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, ^(C)who are doomed to pass away. ⁷ But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, ^(D)which God decreed before the ages for our glory. ⁸ None of ^(E)the rulers of this age understood this, for ^(F)if they had, they would not have crucified ^(G)the Lord of glory. ⁹ But, as it is written,

¹⁰ these things ^(K)God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even ^(L)the depths of God. ¹¹ For who knows a person's thoughts ^(M)except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. ¹² Now ^(N)we have received not ^(O)the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. ¹³ And we impart this ^(P)in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, ^(Q)interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.^[a]

¹⁴ The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are ^(R)folly to him, and ^(S)he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. ¹⁵ The ^(T)spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. ^16 (U)“For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But ^(V)we have the mind of Christ.

³⁵ Jesus said to them, ^(A)“I am the bread of life; ^(B)whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. ³⁶ But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. ^37 (C)All that ^(D)the Father gives me will come to me, and ^(E)whoever comes to me I will never cast out. ³⁸ For ^(F)I have come down from heaven, not to do ^(G)my own will but ^(H)the will of him ^(I)who sent me. ³⁹ And ^(J)this is the will of him who sent me, ^(K)that I should lose nothing of ^(L)all that he has given me, but ^(M)raise it up on the last day. ⁴⁰ For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who ^(N)looks on the Son and ^(O)believes in him ^(P)should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

⁴¹ So the Jews grumbled about him, because he said, ^(Q)“I am the bread that came down from heaven.” ⁴² They said, ^(R)“Is not this Jesus, ^(S)the son of Joseph, whose father and mother ^(T)we know? How does he now say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” ⁴³ Jesus answered them, “Do not grumble among yourselves. ⁴⁴ No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me ^(U)draws him. And ^(V)I will raise him up on the last day. ⁴⁵ It is written in the Prophets, ^(W)‘And they will all be ^(X)taught by God.’ ^(Y)Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me— ^46 (Z)not that anyone has seen the Father except ^(AA)he who is from God; he ^(AB)has seen the Father. ⁴⁷ Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(AC)whoever believes has eternal life. ^48 (AD)I am the bread of life. ^49 (AE)Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and ^(AF)they died. ^50 (AG)This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it ^(AH)and not die. ⁵¹ I am the living bread ^(AI)that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give ^(AJ)for the life of the world is ^(AK)my flesh.”
