Nehemiah 8:6-8
New Century Version
6 Ezra praised the Lord, the great God, and all the people held up their hands and said, “Amen! Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.
7 These Levites explained the Teachings to the people as they stood there: Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, and Pelaiah. 8 They read from the Book of the Teachings of God and explained what it meant so the people understood what was being read.

6 Ezra loofde de Here, de grote God, en het hele volk zei ‘Amen, amen!’ en hief de handen omhoog. Toen knielden zij, bogen diep en aanbaden de Here. 7,8 Tijdens het voorlezen liepen de Levieten Jesua, Bani, Serebja, Jamin, Akkub, Sabbethai, Hodía, Maäseja, Kelita, Azarja, Jozabad, Hanan en Pelaja langs de mensen om hun de betekenis van het gelezene uit te leggen, zodat de mensen het konden begrijpen.
