Matthew 13:34-35
New Catholic Bible
34 The Use of Parables.[a] Jesus told the crowds all these things in parables. Indeed he never spoke to them except in parables. 35 This was to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet:
“I will open my mouth to speak in parables;
I will proclaim what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.”
Footnotes
- Matthew 13:34 Matthew stresses that Jesus speaks in parables to reveal God and his kingdom; in this way he shows that the Messiah fulfills the Scriptures. The “prophet” is, in this case, the psalmist (see Ps 78:2).

Footnotes
- Mateo 13:35 Sa ibang manuskrito ay propeta Isaias.
