3 (A) Gud sade: ”Varde ljus!” Och det blev ljus. 4 Gud såg att ljuset var gott, och han skilde ljuset från mörkret. 5 Gud kallade ljuset dag, och mörkret kallade han natt. Och det blev afton och det blev morgon, den första dagen.
6 (B) Gud sade: ”Mitt i vattnet ska finnas ett valv[a] som skiljer vatten från vatten.” 7 (C) Gud gjorde valvet och skilde vattnet under valvet från vattnet över valvet. Och det blev så. 8 Gud kallade valvet himmel. Och det blev afton och det blev morgon, den andra dagen.
9 (D) Gud sade: ”Vattnet under himlen ska samlas till en enda plats så att det torra blir synligt.” Och det blev så. 10 Gud kallade det torra land, och vattensamlingen kallade han hav. Och Gud såg att det var gott.
11 Gud sade: ”Jorden ska frambringa grönska, fröbärande örter och fruktträd, som bär frukt med frö efter sina slag på jorden.” Och det blev så. 12 Jorden frambringade grönska, fröbärande örter efter sina slag och träd som bär frukt med frö efter sina slag. Och Gud såg att det var gott. 13 Och det blev afton och det blev morgon, den tredje dagen.
14 (E) Gud sade: ”På himlavalvet ska finnas ljus som skiljer dagen från natten. De ska vara tecken som utmärker högtider, dagar och år, 15 och de ska vara ljus på himlavalvet som lyser över jorden.” Och det blev så. 16 (F) Gud gjorde de två stora ljusen, det större att härska över dagen och det mindre att härska över natten, och likaså stjärnorna. 17 Han satte dem på himlavalvet till att lysa över jorden, 18 att härska över dagen och natten och att skilja ljuset från mörkret. Och Gud såg att det var gott. 19 Och det blev afton och det blev morgon, den fjärde dagen.
20 Gud sade: ”Vattnet ska vimla av levande varelser, och fåglar[b] ska flyga över jorden på himlavalvet.” 21 Och Gud skapade de stora havsdjuren och alla levande varelser som rör sig och som vattnet vimlar av, alla efter deras slag, och alla bevingade fåglar efter deras slag. Och Gud såg att det var gott. 22 (G) Gud välsignade dem och sade: ”Var fruktsamma och föröka er och uppfyll vattnet i haven. Och fåglarna ska föröka sig på jorden.” 23 Och det blev afton och det blev morgon, den femte dagen.
24 Gud sade: ”Jorden ska frambringa levande varelser efter deras slag, boskapsdjur, kräldjur och jordens vilda djur efter deras slag.” Och det blev så. 25 Gud gjorde jordens vilda djur efter deras slag, boskapsdjuren efter deras slag och markens alla kräldjur efter deras slag. Och Gud såg att det var gott.
26 (H) Gud sade: ”Låt oss[c] göra människor till vår avbild, lika oss. De ska råda över havets fiskar och himlens fåglar, över boskapsdjuren och hela jorden[d] och alla kräldjur som rör sig på jorden.” 27 Och Gud skapade människan till sin avbild[e], till Guds avbild skapade han henne, till man och kvinna[f] skapade han dem. 28 Och Gud välsignade dem och sade till dem: ”Var fruktsamma och föröka er, uppfyll jorden och lägg den under er. Råd över havets fiskar, himlens fåglar och alla djur som rör sig på jorden.”
29 (I) Och Gud sade: ”Se, jag ger er alla fröbärande örter på hela jorden och alla träd med frukt som har frö. Det ska ni ha till föda. 30 (J) Och åt jordens alla djur, åt himlens alla fåglar och allt som krälar på jorden, allt som har liv, ger jag alla gröna örter till föda.” Och det blev så. 31 Gud såg på allt som han hade gjort, och se, det var mycket gott. Och det blev afton och det blev morgon, den sjätte dagen.

3 And God said,(A) “Let there be light,” and there was light.(B) 4 God saw that the light was good,(C) and he separated the light from the darkness.(D) 5 God called(E) the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.”(F) And there was evening, and there was morning(G)—the first day.
6 And God said,(H) “Let there be a vault(I) between the waters(J) to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it.(K) And it was so.(L) 8 God called(M) the vault “sky.”(N) And there was evening, and there was morning(O)—the second day.
9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place,(P) and let dry ground(Q) appear.” And it was so.(R) 10 God called(S) the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters(T) he called “seas.”(U) And God saw that it was good.(V)
11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation:(W) seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.(X)” And it was so.(Y) 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds(Z) and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.(AA) 13 And there was evening, and there was morning(AB)—the third day.
14 And God said, “Let there be lights(AC) in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night,(AD) and let them serve as signs(AE) to mark sacred times,(AF) and days and years,(AG) 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so.(AH) 16 God made two great lights—the greater light(AI) to govern(AJ) the day and the lesser light to govern(AK) the night.(AL) He also made the stars.(AM) 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night,(AN) and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.(AO) 19 And there was evening, and there was morning(AP)—the fourth day.
20 And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures,(AQ) and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.”(AR) 21 So God created(AS) the great creatures of the sea(AT) and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it,(AU) according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind.(AV) And God saw that it was good.(AW) 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”(AX) 23 And there was evening, and there was morning(AY)—the fifth day.
24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures(AZ) according to their kinds:(BA) the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so.(BB) 25 God made the wild animals(BC) according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds.(BD) And God saw that it was good.(BE)
26 Then God said, “Let us(BF) make mankind(BG) in our image,(BH) in our likeness,(BI) so that they may rule(BJ) over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky,(BK) over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created(BL) mankind(BM) in his own image,(BN)
in the image of God(BO) he created them;
male and female(BP) he created them.(BQ)
28 God blessed them and said to them,(BR) “Be fruitful and increase in number;(BS) fill the earth(BT) and subdue it. Rule over(BU) the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.(BV)”
29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.(BW) 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life(BX) in it—I give every green plant for food.(BY)” And it was so.
31 God saw all that he had made,(BZ) and it was very good.(CA) And there was evening, and there was morning(CB)—the sixth day.
