4 (A)Когато Соломон остаря, жените му преклониха сърцето му към други богове и то не беше съвършено пред Господа, неговия Бог, както сърцето на баща му Давид.
5 (B)Защото Соломон отиде след Астарта, богинята на сидонците, и след Мелхом[a], мерзостта на амонците.
6 Така Соломон извърши зло пред Господа и не Го следваше съвършено, както беше постъпвал баща му Давид.

4 As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods,(A) and his heart was not fully devoted(B) to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been. 5 He followed Ashtoreth(C) the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molek(D) the detestable god of the Ammonites. 6 So Solomon did evil(E) in the eyes of the Lord; he did not follow the Lord completely, as David his father had done.
