Ang Hatol Laban sa Imoralidad

5 Sa katunayan ay may naiulat na may pakikiapid na nagaganap sa inyo, na ang isang lalaki ay nakikipisan sa asawa ng kanyang ama. Ang ganyang uri ng pakikiapid ay wala kahit sa mga pagano. ²At nagyayabang pa kayo! Dapat sana'y nalungkot kayo, upang maitiwalag ninyo ang gumagawa nito? ³Sapagkat kahit wala ako riyan sa katawan, ako'y kasama ninyo sa espiritu. Kaya't para na ring nasa harapan ninyo, humatol na ako sa gumawa ng bagay na ito. ⁴Kapag kayo ay nagkakatipon kasama ang aking espiritu na taglay ang kapangyarihan ng ating Panginoong Jesus, sa pangalan ng ating Panginoong Jesus, ⁵ibigay ninyo ang ganyang tao kay Satanas para sa ikawawasak ng laman, upang ang kanyang espiritu ay maligtas sa araw ng Panginoong Jesus. ⁶Hindi tama ang inyong pagmamalaki. Hindi ba ninyo alam na ang kaunting pampaalsa ay nagpapaalsa sa buong masa? ⁷Alisin ninyo ang lumang pampaalsa, upang kayo'y maging bagong masa, na talaga namang kayo'y walang pampaalsa. Sapagkat si Cristo na kordero ng ating paskuwa ay naialay na. ⁸Kaya't magdiwang tayo ng pista, nang walang lumang pampaalsa, ni pampaalsa ng maruming pag-iisip at kasamaan. Sa halip, magdiwang tayo nang may tinapay ng kalinisan at katotohanan, isang tinapay na walang pampaalsa.

⁹Sinabi ko sa inyo sa aking sulat na huwag kayong makikisama sa mga mapakiapid. ¹⁰Hindi ko tinutukoy ang mga mapakiapid ng sanlibutang ito, o ang mga sakim at mga magnanakaw, o ang mga sumasamba sa diyus-diyosan; kung gayo'y kailangan ninyong lumabas ng daigdig. ¹¹Ngayon, isinusulat ko sa inyo na huwag kayong makisama sa kanino mang tinatawag na kapatid, kung siya'y mapakiapid, o sakim, o sumasamba sa diyus-diyosan, o mapanlait, o lasenggo, o magnanakaw—ni huwag kayong makisalo sa pagkain sa ganyang uri ng tao. ¹²Ano ang karapatan kong humatol sa mga nasa labas? Hindi ba dapat hinahatulan ninyo ang mga nasa loob? ¹³At ang Diyos ang hahatol sa mga nasa labas. “Palayasin ninyo mula sa inyo ang masamang tao.”

5 Yet all manner of fornication is heard among you, and such fornication, which is not among heathen men, so that some man have the wife of his father [so that one man have the wife of his father].

²And ye be swollen with pride [And ye be blown with pride], and not more had wailing, that he that did this work, be taken away from the middle of you.

³And I absent in body [Soothly I absent in body], but present in spirit, now have deemed as present him that hath thus wrought,

⁴when ye be gathered together in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and my spirit, with the virtue of the Lord Jesus,

⁵to betake such a man to Satan, into the perishing of flesh, that the spirit be safe in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁶Your glorying is not good. Know ye not, that a little sourdough impaireth all the gobbet [that a little sourdough corrupteth all the gobbet]?

⁷Cleanse ye out the old sourdough, that ye be new sprinkling together, as ye be therf. For Christ offered is our pask. [Cleanse ye out old sourdough, that ye be new sprinkling together, as ye be therf, or without souring. Forsooth Christ is offered our pask.]

⁸Therefore eat we, not in old sourdough, neither in sourdough of malice and waywardness, but in therf things of clearness and of truth [of clearness and truth].

⁹I wrote to you in an epistle, that ye be not mixed with lechers, [I wrote to you in an epistle, that ye be not mingled, or commune not, with lechers,]

¹⁰not with lechers of this world, nor with covetous men, nor raveners, nor with men serving to maumets^[a], else ye should have gone out of this world.

¹¹But now I have written to you, that ye be not mixed [Now soothly I wrote to you, to be not mingled, or commune not with such]. If he that is named a brother among you, and is a lecher, or covetous, or serving to idols, or a curser, or full of drunkenness, or a ravener, to take no meat with such [with such neither to take meat].

¹²For what is it to me to deem of them that be withoutforth? Whether ye deem not of things that be withinforth? [Forsooth what to me to deem of them that be withoutforth. Whether ye deem not of them that be withinforth?]

¹³For God shall deem them that be withoutforth. Do ye away evil from yourselves.

Immorality Defiles the Church

5 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even ^[a]named among the Gentiles—that a man has his father’s ^(A)wife! ²^(B)And you are ^[b]puffed up, and have not rather ^(C)mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you. ³^(D)For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has so done this deed. ⁴In the ^(E)name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, ^(F)with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, ⁵^(G)deliver such a one to ^(H)Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord ^[c]Jesus.

⁶^(I)Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that ^(J)a little leaven leavens the whole lump? ⁷Therefore ^[d]purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed ^(K)Christ, our ^(L)Passover, was sacrificed ^[e]for us. ⁸Therefore ^(M)let us keep the feast, ^(N)not with old leaven, nor ^(O)with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Immorality Must Be Judged

⁹I wrote to you in my epistle ^(P)not to ^[f]keep company with sexually immoral people. ¹⁰Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go ^(Q)out of the world. ¹¹But now I have written to you not to keep company ^(R)with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—^(S)not even to eat with such a person.

¹²For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? ¹³But those who are outside God judges. Therefore ^(T)“put away from yourselves the evil person.”
