18 فِي تِلْكَ السَّاعَةِ، تَقَدَّمَ التَّلامِيذُ إِلَى يَسُوعَ يَسْأَلُونَهُ: «مَنْ هُوَ الأَعْظَمُ، إِذَنْ، فِي مَلَكُوتِ السَّمَاوَاتِ؟» 2 فَدَعَا إِلَيْهِ وَلَداً صَغِيراً وَأَوْقَفَهُ وَسْطَهُمْ، 3 وَقَالَ: «الْحَقَّ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا تَتَحَوَّلُونَ وَتَصِيرُونَ مِثْلَ الأَوْلادِ الصِّغَارِ، فَلَنْ تَدْخُلُوا مَلَكُوتَ السَّمَاوَاتِ أَبَداً. 4 فَمَنِ اتَّضَعَ فَصَارَ مِثْلَ هَذَا الْوَلَدِ الصَّغِيرِ، فَهُوَ الأَعْظَمُ فِي مَلَكُوتِ السَّمَاوَاتِ. 5 وَمَنْ قَبِلَ بِاسْمِي وَلَداً صَغِيراً مِثْلَ هَذَا، فَقَدْ قَبِلَنِي.
مسببو العثرات
6 وَمَنْ كَانَ عَثْرَةً لأَحَدِ هَؤُلاءِ الصِّغَارِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ بِي، فَأَفْضَلُ لَهُ لَوْ عُلِّقَ فِي عُنُقِهِ حَجَرُ الرَّحَى وَأُغْرِقَ فِي أَعْمَاقِ الْبَحْرِ. 7 الْوَيْلُ لِلْعَالَمِ مِنَ الْعَثَرَاتِ! فَلابُدَّ أَنْ تَأْتِيَ الْعَثَرَاتُ؛ وَلكِنِ الْوَيْلُ لِمَنْ تَأْتِي الْعَثَرَاتُ عَلَى يَدِهِ! 8 فَإِنْ كَانَتْ يَدُكَ أَوْ رِجْلُكَ فَخّاً لَكَ، فَاقْطَعْهَا وَأَلْقِهَا عَنْكَ: أَفْضَلُ لَكَ أَنْ تَدْخُلَ الْحَيَاةَ وَيَدُكَ أَوْ رِجْلُكَ مَقْطُوعَةٌ، مِنْ أَنْ تُطْرَحَ فِي النَّارِ الأَبَدِيَّةِ. 9 وَإِنْ كَانَتْ عَيْنُكَ فَخّاً لَكَ، فَاقْلَعْهَا وَأَلْقِهَا عَنْكَ: أَفْضَلُ لَكَ أَنْ تَدْخُلَ الْحَيَاةَ وَعَيْنُكَ مَقْلُوعَةٌ، مِنْ أَنْ تُطْرَحَ فِي جَهَنَّمِ النَّارِ وَلَكَ عَيْنَانِ. 10 إِيَّاكُمْ أَنْ تَحْتَقِرُوا أَحَداً مِنْ هَؤُلاءِ الصِّغَارِ! فَإِنِّي أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: إِنَّ مَلائِكَتَهُمْ فِي السَّمَاءِ يُشَاهِدُونَ كُلَّ حِينٍ وَجْهَ أَبِي الَّذِي فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ.
مَثل الخروف الضائع
11 فَإِنَّ ابْنَ الإِنْسَانِ قَدْ جَاءَ لِكَيْ يُخَلِّصَ الْهَالِكِينَ. 12 مَا رَأْيُكُمْ فِي إِنْسَانٍ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ مِئَةُ خَرُوفٍ، فَضَلَّ وَاحِدٌ مِنْهَا: أَفَلا يَتْرُكُ التِّسْعَةَ وَالتِّسْعِينَ فِي الْجِبَالِ، وَيَذْهَبُ يَبْحَثُ عَنِ الضَّالِّ؟ 13 الْحَقَّ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: إِنَّهُ إِذَا وَجَدَهُ، فَإِنَّهُ يَفْرَحُ بِهِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ فَرَحِهِ بِالتِّسْعَةِ وَالتِّسْعِينَ الَّتِي لَمْ تَضِلّ! 14 وَهكَذَا، لَا يَشَاءُ أَبُوكُمُ الَّذِي فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ أَنْ يَهْلِكَ وَاحِدٌ مِنْ هَؤُلاءِ الصِّغَارِ.
إن أخطأ إليك أخوك
15 إِنْ أَخْطَأَ إِلَيْكَ أَخُوكَ، فَاذْهَبْ إِلَيْهِ وَعَاتِبْهُ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ عَلَى انْفِرَادٍ. فَإِذَا سَمِعَ لَكَ، تَكُونُ قَدْ رَبِحْتَ أَخَاكَ. 16 وَإذَا لَمْ يَسْمَعْ، فَخُذْ مَعَكَ أَخاً آخَرَ أَوِ اثْنَيْنِ، حَتَّى يَثْبُتَ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ بِشَهَادَةِ شَاهِدَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاثَةٍ. 17 فَإِذَا لَمْ يَسْمَعْ لَهُمَا، فَاعْرِضِ الأَمْرَ عَلَى الْكَنِيسَةِ. فَإِذَا لَمْ يَسْمَعْ لِلْكَنِيسَةِ أَيْضاً، فَلْيَكُنْ عِنْدَكَ كَالْوَثَنِيِّ وَجَابِي الضَّرَائِبِ. 18 فَالْحَقَّ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: إِنَّ كُلَّ مَا تَرْبِطُونَهُ عَلَى الأَرْضِ يَكُونُ قَدْ رُبِطَ فِي السَّمَاءِ، وَمَا تَحُلُّونَهُ عَلَى الأَرْضِ يَكُونُ قَدْ حُلَّ فِي السَّمَاءِ. 19 وَأَيْضاً أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: إِذَا اتَّفَقَ اثْنَانِ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى الأَرْضِ في أَيِّ أَمْرٍ، مَهْمَا كَانَ مَا يَطْلُبَانِهِ، فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يَكُونُ لَهُمَا مِنْ قِبَلِ أَبِي الَّذِي فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ. 20 فَإِنَّهُ حَيْثُمَا اجْتَمَعَ اثْنَانِ أَوْ ثَلاثَةٌ بِاسْمِي، فَأَنَا أَكُونُ فِي وَسَطِهِمْ».
مثل العبد الذي لم يرحم
21 عِنْدَئِذٍ تَقَدَّمَ إِلَيْهِ بُطْرُسُ وَسَأَلَهُ: «يَا رَبُّ، كَمْ مَرَّةً يُخْطِئُ إِلَيَّ أَخِي فَأَغْفِرَ لَهُ؟ هَلْ إِلَى سَبْعِ مَرَّاتٍ؟» 22 فَأَجَابَهُ يَسُوعُ: «لا إِلَى سَبْعِ مَرَّاتٍ، بَلْ إِلَى سَبْعِينَ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ! 23 لِهَذَا السَّبَبِ، يُشَبَّهُ مَلَكُوتُ السَّمَاوَاتِ بِإِنْسَانٍ مَلِكٍ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُحَاسِبَ عَبِيدَهُ. 24 فَلَمَّا شَرَعَ يُحَاسِبُهُمْ، أُحْضِرَ إِلَيْهِ وَاحِدٌ مَدْيُونٌ بِعَشَرَةِ آلافِ وَزْنَةٍ. 25 وَإِذْ لَمْ يَكُنْ عِنْدَهُ مَا يُوفِي بِهِ دَيْنَهُ، أَمَرَ سَيِّدُهُ بِأَنْ يُبَاعَ هُوَ وَزَوْجَتُهُ وَأَوْلادُهُ وَكُلُّ مَا يَمْلِكُ لِيُوفِيَ الدَّيْنَ. 26 لكِنَّ الْعَبْدَ خَرَّ أَمَامَهُ سَاجِداً وَقَائِلاً: يَا سَيِّدُ، أَمْهِلْنِي فَأُوفِيَ لَكَ الدَّيْنَ كُلَّهُ. 27 فَأَشْفَقَ سَيِّدُ ذَلِكَ الْعَبْدِ عَلَيْهِ، فَأَطْلَقَ سَرَاحَهُ، وَسَامَحَهُ بِالدَّيْنِ.
28 وَلكِنْ لَمَّا خَرَجَ ذَلِكَ الْعَبْدُ، قَصَدَ وَاحِداً مِنْ زُمَلائِهِ الْعَبِيدِ كَانَ مَدْيُوناً لَهُ بِمِئَةِ دِينَارٍ. فَقَبَضَ عَلَيْهِ وَأَخَذَ بِخِنَاقِهِ قَائِلاً: أَوْفِنِي مَا عَلَيْكَ! 29 فَرَكَعَ زَمِيلُهُ الْعَبْدُ أَمَامَهُ وَقَالَ مُتَوَسِّلاً: أَمْهِلْنِي فَأُوْفِيَكَ! 30 فَلَمْ يَقْبَلْ بَلْ مَضَى وَأَلْقَاهُ فِي السِّجْنِ حَتَّى يُوفِيَ مَا عَلَيْهِ. 31 وَإِذْ شَاهَدَ زُمَلاؤُهُ الْعَبِيدُ مَا جَرَى، حَزِنُوا جِدّاً، فَمَضَوْا وَأَخْبَرُوا سَيِّدَهُمْ بِكُلِّ مَا جَرَى. 32 فَاسْتَدْعَاهُ سَيِّدُهُ وَقَالَ لَهُ: أَيُّهَا الْعَبْدُ الشِّرِّيرُ، ذَلِكَ الدَّيْنُ كُلُّهُ سَامَحْتُكَ بِهِ لأَنَّكَ تَوَسَّلْتَ إِلَيَّ. 33 أَفَمَا كَانَ يَجِبُ أَنْ تَرْحَمَ زَمِيلَكَ الْعَبْدَ كَمَا رَحِمْتُكَ أَنَا؟ 34 وَإِذْ ثَارَ غَضَبُ سَيِّدِهِ عَلَيْهِ، دَفَعَهُ إِلَى الْجَلّادِينَ لِيُعَذِّبُوهُ حَتَّى يُوفِيَ كُلَّ مَا عَلَيْهِ. 35 هَكَذَا يَفْعَلُ بِكُمْ أَبِي السَّمَاوِيُّ إِنْ لَمْ يَغْفِرْ كُلٌّ مِنْكُمْ لأَخِيهِ مِنْ قَلْبِهِ!»

2. DISCORSO ECCLESIASTICO
Chi è il più grande
18 In quel momento i discepoli si avvicinarono a Gesù dicendo: «Chi dunque è il più grande nel regno dei cieli?». 2 Allora Gesù chiamò a sé un bambino, lo pose in mezzo a loro e disse: 3 «In verità vi dico: se non vi convertirete e non diventerete come i bambini, non entrerete nel regno dei cieli. 4 Perciò chiunque diventerà piccolo come questo bambino, sarà il più grande nel regno dei cieli.
Lo scandalo
5 E chi accoglie anche uno solo di questi bambini in nome mio, accoglie me.
6 Chi invece scandalizza anche uno solo di questi piccoli che credono in me, sarebbe meglio per lui che gli fosse appesa al collo una macina girata da asino, e fosse gettato negli abissi del mare. 7 Guai al mondo per gli scandali! E' inevitabile che avvengano scandali, ma guai all'uomo per colpa del quale avviene lo scandalo!
8 Se la tua mano o il tuo piede ti è occasione di scandalo, taglialo e gettalo via da te; è meglio per te entrare nella vita monco o zoppo, che avere due mani o due piedi ed essere gettato nel fuoco eterno. 9 E se il tuo occhio ti è occasione di scandalo, cavalo e gettalo via da te; è meglio per te entrare nella vita con un occhio solo, che avere due occhi ed essere gettato nella Geenna del fuoco.
10 Guardatevi dal disprezzare uno solo di questi piccoli, perché vi dico che i loro angeli nel cielo vedono sempre la faccia del Padre mio che è nei cieli. 11 E' venuto infatti il Figlio dell'uomo a salvare ciò che era perduto].
La pecora smarrita
12 Che ve ne pare? Se un uomo ha cento pecore e ne smarrisce una, non lascerà forse le novantanove sui monti, per andare in cerca di quella perduta? 13 Se gli riesce di trovarla, in verità vi dico, si rallegrerà per quella più che per le novantanove che non si erano smarrite. 14 Così il Padre vostro celeste non vuole che si perda neanche uno solo di questi piccoli.
Correzione fraterna
15 Se il tuo fratello commette una colpa, và e ammoniscilo fra te e lui solo; se ti ascolterà, avrai guadagnato il tuo fratello; 16 se non ti ascolterà, prendi con te una o due persone, perché ogni cosa sia risolta sulla parola di due o tre testimoni. 17 Se poi non ascolterà neppure costoro, dillo all'assemblea; e se non ascolterà neanche l'assemblea, sia per te come un pagano e un pubblicano. 18 In verità vi dico: tutto quello che legherete sopra la terra sarà legato anche in cielo e tutto quello che scioglierete sopra la terra sarà sciolto anche in cielo.
Preghiera in comune
19 In verità vi dico ancora: se due di voi sopra la terra si accorderanno per domandare qualunque cosa, il Padre mio che è nei cieli ve la concederà. 20 Perché dove sono due o tre riuniti nel mio nome, io sono in mezzo a loro».
Perdono delle offese
21 Allora Pietro gli si avvicinò e gli disse: «Signore, quante volte dovrò perdonare al mio fratello, se pecca contro di me? Fino a sette volte?». 22 E Gesù gli rispose: «Non ti dico fino a sette, ma fino a settanta volte sette.
Parabola del servo spietato
23 A proposito, il regno dei cieli è simile a un re che volle fare i conti con i suoi servi. 24 Incominciati i conti, gli fu presentato uno che gli era debitore di diecimila talenti. 25 Non avendo però costui il denaro da restituire, il padrone ordinò che fosse venduto lui con la moglie, con i figli e con quanto possedeva, e saldasse così il debito. 26 Allora quel servo, gettatosi a terra, lo supplicava: Signore, abbi pazienza con me e ti restituirò ogni cosa. 27 Impietositosi del servo, il padrone lo lasciò andare e gli condonò il debito. 28 Appena uscito, quel servo trovò un altro servo come lui che gli doveva cento denari e, afferratolo, lo soffocava e diceva: Paga quel che devi! 29 Il suo compagno, gettatosi a terra, lo supplicava dicendo: Abbi pazienza con me e ti rifonderò il debito. 30 Ma egli non volle esaudirlo, andò e lo fece gettare in carcere, fino a che non avesse pagato il debito.
31 Visto quel che accadeva, gli altri servi furono addolorati e andarono a riferire al loro padrone tutto l'accaduto. 32 Allora il padrone fece chiamare quell'uomo e gli disse: Servo malvagio, io ti ho condonato tutto il debito perché mi hai pregato. 33 Non dovevi forse anche tu aver pietà del tuo compagno, così come io ho avuto pietà di te? 34 E, sdegnato, il padrone lo diede in mano agli aguzzini, finché non gli avesse restituito tutto il dovuto. 35 Così anche il mio Padre celeste farà a ciascuno di voi, se non perdonerete di cuore al vostro fratello».

18 فِي ذَلِكَ الوَقْتِ، أتَى التَّلَامِيذُ إلَى يَسُوعَ وَسَألوهُ: «مَنْ هُوَ الأعْظَمُ فِي مَلَكُوتِ السَّمَاوَاتِ؟»
2 حِينَئِذٍ دَعَا يَسُوعُ طِفْلًا إلَيْهِ، وَأوقَفَهُ فِي وَسَطِهِمْ، 3 وَقَالَ: «أقُولُ الحَقَّ لَكُمْ، مَا لَمْ تَتَغَيَّرُوا وَتَصِيرُوا كَأطْفَالٍ، فَلَنْ تَدْخُلُوا مَلَكُوتَ السَّمَاوَاتِ. 4 لِذَلِكَ مَنْ يَتَوَاضَعُ كَهَذَا الطِّفلِ الصَّغِيرِ فَإنَّهُ يَكُونُ الأعْظَمَ فِي مَلَكُوتِ السَّمَاوَاتِ. 5 وَمَنْ يَقْبَلُ طِفْلًا كَهَذَا بِاسْمِي فَإنَّمَا يَقْبَلُنِي.»
تَحذيرٌ مِنَ العَثَرَات

6 «أمَّا مَنْ يُعثِرُ أحَدَ هَؤُلَاءِ الصِّغَارِ المُؤْمِنِينَ بِي، فَسَيَكُونُ أفْضَلَ لَهُ لَوْ أنَّ حَجَرَ الرَّحَى وُضِعَ حَوْلَ رَقَبَتِهِ، وَأُلقِيَ بِهِ فِي البَحْرِ فَغَرِقَ! 7 وَيْلٌ لِلعَالَمِ مِنْ هَذِهِ العَثَرَاتِ الَّتِي لَا بُدَّ أنْ تأتِيَ، لَكِنْ وَيْلٌ لِلَّذِينَ يَتَسَبَّبُونَ بِهَا!
8 «لِذَلِكَ إنْ كَانَتْ يَدُكَ أوْ رِجلُكَ تَدْفَعُكَ إلَى الخَطِيَّةِ، فَاقطَعْهَا وَألقِهَا بَعِيدًا عَنْكَ! مِنَ الأفضَلِ أنْ تَدْخُلَ الحَيَاةَ الأبَدِيَّةَ مَقطُوعَ اليَدِ أوْ الرِّجلِ، مِنْ أنْ يَكُونَ لَكَ يَدَانِ أوْ رِجلَانِ اثْنَتَانِ وَتُلْقَى إلَى النَّارِ الأبَدِيَّةِ. 9 وَإنْ كَانَتْ عَينُكَ تَدْفَعُكَ إلَى الخَطِيَّةِ، فَاقلَعْهَا وَألقِهَا بَعِيدًا عَنْكَ! فَإنَّهُ مِنَ الأفضَلِ أنْ تَدْخُلَ الحَيَاةَ بِعَينٍ وَاحِدَةٍ، مِنْ أنْ يَكُونَ لَكَ عَينَانِ اثْنَتَانِ وَتُلْقَى إلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ.»
الخَرُوفُ الضَّالّ
(لُوقَا 15:3-7)
10 وَقَالَ يَسُوعُ: «احذَرُوا مِنْ أنْ تَسْتَخِّفُوا بِأحَدِ تَلَامِيذِي البُسَطَاءِ. لِأنِّي أُخبِرُكُمْ أنَّ المَلَائِكَةَ المُوكَلَةَ بِحِمَايَتِهِمْ يَرَوْنَ وَجْهَ أبِي الَّذِي فِي السَّمَاءِ دَائِمًا. 11 لِأنَّ ابْنَ الإنْسَانِ جَاءَ لِكَي يُخَلِّصَ الضَّائِعِينَ.
12 «فَمَاذَا تَقُولُونَ فِي رَجُلٍ لَهُ مِئَةُ خَرُوفٍ، فَضَلَّ مِنْهَا وَاحِدٌ، ألَا يَتْرُكُ التِّسْعَةَ وَالتِّسْعِينَ خَرُوفًا عَلَى الجَبَلِ لِيَذْهَبَ وَيَجِدَ الخَرُوفَ الَّذِي ضَلَّ؟ 13 أقُولُ الحَقَّ لَكُمْ، إنَّهُ عِنْدَمَا يَجِدُهُ، سَيَكُونُ أكْثَرَ سَعَادَةً بِهِ مِنْ سَعَادَتِهِ بِالتِّسْعَةِ وَالتِّسْعِينَ خَرُوفًا الَّتِي لَمْ تَضِلّْ. 14 هَكَذَا أيْضًا لَا يُرِيدُ أبُوكُمُ الَّذِي فِي السَّمَاءِ أنْ يَهْلِكَ وَاحِدٌ مِنْ تَلَامِيذِي البُسَطَاءِ هَؤُلَاءِ.
صَالِحْ أخَاك
(لُوقَا 17:3)
15 «إذَا أخطَأ أخُوكَ إلَيْكَ، فَاذْهَبْ إلَيْهِ وَتَحَدَّثْ مَعْهُ عَلَى انفِرَادٍ. فَإنِ استَمَعَ إلَيْكَ، تَكُونُ قَدْ رَبِحْتَ أخَاكَ. 16 وَلَكِنْ إنْ لَمْ يَسْتَمِعْ إلَيْكَ، خُذْ وَاحِدًا أوْ اثْنَيْنِ مَعَكَ، حَتَّى يَكُونَ الكَلَامُ بِشَهَادَةِ شَاهِدَينِ أوْ ثَلَاثَةٍ.[a] 17 فَإنْ رَفَضَ الاسْتِمَاعَ إلَيْهِمَا، أخبِرِ الكَنِيسَةَ. فَإنْ رَفَضَ الاسْتِمَاعَ إلَى الكَنِيسَةِ، حِينَئِذٍ عَلَيْكَ أنْ تُعَامِلَهُ كَمَا تُعَامِلُ عَابِدَ الأوْثَانِ وَجَامِعَ الضَّرَائِبِ.
18 «أقُولُ الحَقَّ لَكُمْ، إنَّ كُلَّ مَا تَرْبِطُونَهُ عَلَى الأرْضِ يَكُونُ مَربُوطًا فِي السَّمَاءِ. وَكُلُّ مَا تَحُلُّونَهُ عَلَى الأرْضِ يَكُونُ مَحلُولَا فِي السَّمَاءِ. 19 أقُولُ الحَقَّ لَكُمْ، إنِ اتَّفَقَ اثْنَانِ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى أيِّ أمْرٍ تُصَلُّونَ لِأجْلِهِ، فَإنَّ أبِي الَّذِي فِي السَّمَاءِ سَيُحَقِّقُهُ لَهُمَا. 20 لِأنَّهُ إنِ اجتَمَعَ اثْنَانِ أوْ ثَلَاثَةٌ بِاسْمِي، فَأنَا أكُونُ بَيْنَهُمْ.»
المُسَامَحَةُ بِلَا حُدُود
21 ثُمَّ جَاءَ بُطرُسُ إلَى يَسُوعَ وَقَالَ لَهُ: «يَا رَبُّ كَمْ مَرَّةً أسمَحُ لِأخِي بِأنْ يُخطِئَ إلَيَّ، وَمَعَ هَذَا أُسَامِحُهُ؟ أأُسَامِحُهُ إلَى سَبْعِ مَرَّاتٍ؟» 22 فَقَالَ لَهُ يَسُوعُ: «لَيْسَ إلَى سَبْعِ مِرَّاتٍ فَقَطْ، بَلْ حَتَّى إلَى سَبعِينَ مَرَّةٍ، وَفي كُلِّ مَرَّةٍ سَبْعُ مَرَّاتٍ!»[b]
23 «لِذَلِكَ يُمْكِنُ تَشْبِيهُ مَلَكُوتِ السَّمَاوَاتِ بِمَلِكٍ قَرَّرَ تَصْفِيَةَ حِسَابَاتِهِ مَعَ عَبِيدِهِ. 24 وَلَمَّا بَدَأ بِتَصْفِيَةِ حِسَابَاتِهِ، أُحضِرَ إلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ مَديُونٌ لَهُ بِمَبلَغٍ ضَخْمٍ جِدًّا.[c] 25 وَإذْ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَمْلِكُ مَا يَسُدُّ بِهِ الدَّينَ، قَرَّرَ السَّيِّدُ أنْ يُبَاعَ المَديُونُ مَعَ زَوْجَتِهِ وَأطْفَالِهِ وَكُلِّ مَا يَمْلِكُهُ، وَأنْ يُستَخْدَمَ الثَّمَنُ لِسَدَادِ الدَّينِ.
26 «حِينَئِذٍ سَجَدَ العَبْدُ عَلَى رُكبَتَيْهِ أمَامَ المَلِكِ، وَتَوَسَّلَ إلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: ‹تَمَهَّلْ عَلَيَّ، وَسَأدفَعُ لَكَ كُلَّ الدَّينِ.› 27 فَأشفَقَ السَّيِّدُ عَلَيْهِ، وَألغَى عَنْهُ الدَّينَ كَامِلًا وَتَرَكَهُ يَذْهَبُ.
28 «وَبَيْنَمَا هُوَ ذَاهِبٌ، وَجَدَ أحَدَ رِفَاقِهِ العَبِيدِ، وَكَانَ مَديُونًا لَهُ بِمَبلَغٍ زَهِيدٍ.[d] فَأمسَكَ بِعُنُقِهِ وَابْتَدَأ يَخْنُقُهُ وَيَقُولُ لَهُ: ‹سُدَّ مَا عَلَيْكَ مِنْ دَينٍ لِي.› 29 فَسَجَدَ العَبْدُ عَلَى رُكبَتَيْهِ أمَامَهُ، وَتَوَسَّلَ إلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: ‹تَمَهَّلْ عَلَيَّ، وَسَأدفَعُ مَا عَلَيَّ.›
30 «وَلَكِنَّهُ رَفَضَ ذَلِكَ، بَلْ أخَذَهُ وَألقَاهُ فِي السِّجْنِ حَتَّىْ يَدْفَعَ كُلَّ دَينِهِ. 31 وَعِنْدَمَا رَأى العَبِيدُ الآخَرُونَ مَا حَدَثَ حَزِنُوا جِدًّا، وَذَهَبُوا لِيُخبِرُوا سَيِّدَهُمْ بِكُلِّ مَا حَدَثَ.
32 «فَدَعَاهُ سَيِّدُهُ وَقَالَ لَهُ: ‹أيُّهَا العَبْدُ الشِّرِّيرُ، أمَا سَامَحْتُكَ بِكُلِّ الدَّينِ الَّذِي عَلَيْكَ لِأنَّكَ تَوَسَّلْتَ إلَيَّ. 33 أمَا كَانَ عَلَيْكَ أنْ تَرْحَمَ العَبْدَ رَفِيقَكَ كَمَا رَحَمْتُكَ أنَا أيْضًا؟› 34 وَغَضِبَ سَيِّدُهُ جَدًّا، وَسَلَّمَهُ لِيُعَاقَبَ حَتَّى يَدْفَعَ كُلَّ دَينِهِ.
35 «هَكَذَا سَيُعَامِلُكُمْ أبِي السَّمَاوِيُّ أيْضًا، مَا لَمْ يُسَامِحْ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْكُمْ أخَاهُ مِنْ قَلْبِهِ.»

«Siate come i bambini»
18 In quel momento i discepoli vennero a chiedere a Gesù chi di loro sarebbe stato il maggiore nel Regno dei Cieli.
2 Gesù chiamò un bambino, lo mise in mezzo a loro e disse: 3 «Se non cambiate e non diventate come bambini, non entrerete mai nel Regno dei Cieli. 4 Perciò, chi si fa piccolo al livello di un bambino, è il maggiore nel Regno dei Cieli. 5 E chi accoglie un bambino come questo nel mio nome, accoglie me. 6 Ma se qualcuno di voi, con le sue azioni, ostacola la fede di uno di questi piccoli che credono in me, sarebbe meglio per lui avere una macina da mulino legata al collo ed essere gettato in mare!
7 Guai al mondo per tutte le sue malvagità! La tentazione di sbagliare è inevitabile, ma guai allʼuomo che provoca la tentazione! 8 Perciò, se la tua mano o il tuo piede ti fanno peccare, tagliali e buttali via. Meglio entrare in cielo mutilati, piuttosto che finire allʼinferno con due mani e due piedi. 9 E se il tuo occhio ti fa peccare, cavalo e buttalo via. Meglio entrare in cielo con un occhio solo, che finire allʼinferno con tutti e due.
10 Attenti a non disprezzare nemmeno uno di questi piccoli. Perché vi dico che in cielo i loro angeli hanno libero accesso a mio Padre. 11 Ed io, il Messia, sono venuto per salvare il perduto.
12 Se un uomo ha cento pecore ed una si smarrisce, che cosa credete che farà? Non lascerà forse le altre novantanove per andare a cercare sui monti quella che si è perduta?
13 E se la trova, sarà più contento per questa pecora, che non per le altre novantanove a casa al sicuro! 14 E questa è la volontà di mio Padre: che neppure uno di questi piccoli debba perire.
Perdonate gli altri
15 Se un fratello ti fa un torto, vai da lui in privato e spiegagli il suo sbaglio. Se ti ascolta e lo confessa, ti sei riconquistato un fratello. 16 Se invece non vuole ascoltarti, prendi con te una o due persone e torna da lui facendo confermare tutto ciò che dici da questi testimoni. 17 Se ancora non vuole ascoltare, sottoponi il tuo caso alla chiesa, e se la sentenza della chiesa ti è favorevole, ma lʼaltro non lʼaccetta, allora consideralo come un estraneo, pagano e peccatore. 18 Vi dico questo: qualsiasi cosa legate in terra è legata in cielo, e qualsiasi cosa sciogliete in terra, sarà sciolta in cielo.
19 Vi dirò di più: se due di voi sʼaccordano qui sulla terra per domandare qualcosa in preghiera a mio Padre che è in cielo, egli gliela concederà.
20 Perché se due o tre si riuniscono nel mio nome, io sarò fra loro».
21 Poi Pietro sʼavvicinò a Gesù e gli domandò: «Signore, quante volte devo perdonare un fratello che mi ha fatto un torto? Fino a sette volte?»
22 «No», rispose Gesù. «Non solo fino a sette volte, ma fino a settanta volte sette!»
23 «Il Regno dei Cieli può essere paragonato a un re che decise di aggiornare i suoi conti. 24 Tirate le somme, gli fu portato uno dei suoi debitori che gli doveva circa diecimila monete dʼoro. 25 Lʼuomo non poteva pagare, così il re ordinò che, per saldare il debito, fosse venduto lui, la moglie, i suoi figli e tutto ciò che possedeva.
26 Ma lʼuomo si gettò in terra davanti al re, il viso nella polvere, e implorò: “Oh Signore, abbi pazienza, e pagherò tutto!”
27 Allora il re ebbe compassione di lui, lo lasciò andare e gli condonò il debito.
28 Ma quando lʼuomo lasciò il re, andò da un altro che gli doveva una piccola somma, lo afferrò per la gola e glʼingiunse di pagare immediatamente.
29 Lʼuomo si buttò a terra davanti a lui e lo scongiurò di dargli un poʼ di tempo. “Abbi pazienza e ti pagherò!” implorava.
30 Ma lʼaltro non volle aspettare. Lo fece arrestare e rinchiudere in prigione, finché non avesse pagato tutto il debito.
31 Gli amici dellʼuomo imprigionato videro queste cose e ne furono molto dispiaciuti. Andarono dal re e gli raccontarono tutto ciò che era accaduto. 32 Allora il re chiamò lʼuomo che aveva perdonato: “Uomo malvagio! Poco fa ti ho condonato lʼenorme debito che avevi, soltanto perché me lo hai chiesto. 33 Non avresti potuto avere pietà di quellʼuomo, come io ne ho avuta di te?”
34 Poi, fuori di sé per la collera, il re consegnò lʼuomo agli aguzzini finché non pagò fino allʼultimo centesimo. 35 Così agirà verso di voi mio Padre che è in cielo, se rifiutate di perdonare di cuore i vostri fratelli e sorelle».

The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven(A)
18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children,(B) you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.(C) 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.(D) 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.(E)
Causing to Stumble
6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.(F) 7 Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!(G) 8 If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble,(H) cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to stumble,(I) gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.(J)
The Parable of the Wandering Sheep(K)
10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels(L) in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. [11] [a]
12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.
Dealing With Sin in the Church
15 “If your brother or sister[b] sins,[c] go and point out their fault,(M) just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’[d](N) 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church;(O) and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.(P)
18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be[e] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[f] loosed in heaven.(Q)
19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them(R) by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”(S)
The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me?(T) Up to seven times?”(U)
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[g](V)
23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like(W) a king who wanted to settle accounts(X) with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold[h] was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay,(Y) the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold(Z) to repay the debt.
26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him.(AA) ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
28 “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.[i] He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.
29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’
30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.
32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.
35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”(AB)
