4 (A)И пак захвана да поучава край морето; и понеже при Него се събра много народ, Той влезе в кораба и седеше в морето, а целият народ беше на сушата край морето.
2 И поучаваше ги много с притчи, и в учението Си им говореше:
3 слушайте: ето, излезе сеяч да сее;
4 и случи се, когато сееше, едни зърна паднаха край пътя, и долетяха небесните птици и ги изкълваха.
5 Други паднаха на каменисто място, дето нямаше много пръст, и скоро поникнаха, понеже пръстта не беше дълбока;
6 а когато изгря слънце, бидоха попарени и, понеже нямаха корен, изсъхнаха.
7 Други паднаха в тръни, и израснаха тръните, заглушиха семето, и то не даде плод.
8 И други паднаха на добра земя и почнаха да дават плод, който поникна и порасна; и принесоха: едно трийсет, друго шейсет, а трето сто.
9 И казваше им: който има уши да слуша, нека слуша!
10 А когато остана насаме, окръжаващите Го заедно с дванайсетте Го попитаха за притчата.
11 (B)И казваше им: вам е дадено да узнаете тайните на царството Божие, а на ония, външните, всичко бива в притчи;
12 (C)за да гледат с очи, и да не видят; за да слушат с уши, и да не разбират; понеже те се боят, да не би някога да се обърнат, и да им се простят греховете.
13 И им казва: нима не разбирате тая притча? Как тогава ще разберете всички притчи?
14 (D)Сеячът сее словото.
15 Посеяното край пътя означава ония, у които се сее словото, но при които, след като го чуят, тозчас дохожда сатаната и грабва словото, посято в сърцата им.
16 (E)Също и посеяното на каменисти места означава ония, които, след като чуят словото, веднага с радост го приемат,
17 ала нямат в себе си корен и са непостоянни; после, кога настане скръб или гонение заради словото, тозчас се съблазняват.
18 Посеяното в тръни означава слушащите словото,
19 (F)но у които грижите на тоя век, примамливото богатство и други пожелания, като влязат в тях, заглушават словото, и то бива безплодно.
20 А посеяното на добра земя са ония, които слушат словото и приемат и принасят плод: едни трийсет, други шейсет, а други сто.
21 (G)И рече им: затова ли се донася светило, за да се тури под крина или под одър? Не затова ли, за да се тури на светилник?
22 (H)Понеже няма нищо тайно, което да не стане явно; и нищо не е станало, за да бъде скрито, но за да излезе наяве.
23 Ако някой има уши да слуша, нека слуша!
24 (I)И казваше им: обърнете внимание на това, което слушате: с каквато мярка мерите, с такава ще ви се отмери и ще се прибави вам, които слушате.
25 (J)Защото, който има, нему ще се даде, а който няма, от него ще се отнеме и това, що има.
26 И казваше: царството Божие прилича, както кога човек хвърли семе в земята,
27 и спи, и става нощя и дене; а как пониква и расте семето, той не знае.
28 Защото земята сама по себе си ражда първом злак, после клас, след туй пълно зърно в класа;
29 а кога узрее плодът, незабавно изпраща сърп, защото е настанала жетва.
30 (K)И казваше: на какво да оприличим царството Божие, или с каква притча да го изобразим?
31 То е като синапово зърно, което, кога се посее в земята, е най-малко от всички семена земни;
32 а кога се посее, пониква и става поголямо от всички злакове, и пуска големи клони, тъй че под сянката му могат да се подсланят птиците небесни.
33 (L)И с много такива притчи им проповядваше словото, според както можеха да слушат.
34 И без притчи не им говореше, а на учениците Си разясняваше насаме всичко.
35 (M)Него ден вечерта им казва: да минем на отсрещната страна.
36 И като разпуснаха народа, учениците Го взеха със себе си, както беше в кораба; имаше и други ладии с Него.
37 И подигна се голяма буря; а вълните прехвърляха в кораба, тъй че той вече се пълнеше с вода.
38 А Иисус беше заспал при кърмилото на възглавница. Будят Го и Му казват: Учителю, нима не Те е грижа, че загиваме?
39 (N)И като се събуди, запрети на вятъра и каза на морето: млъкни, престани! И вятърът утихна, и настана голяма тишина.
40 И им рече: що сте тъй страхливи? Как нямате вяра!
41 И обзе ги голям страх, и казваха помежду си: кой ли е Този, та и вятърът, и морето Му се покоряват?

4 И пак започна да поучава край езерото. И събра се при Него едно твърде голямо множество, така щото Той влезе в една ладия и седеше на езерото; а цялото множество беше на сушата край езерото.
2 И поучаваше ги много с притчи, и казваше им в поучението Си:
3 Слушайте: Ето, сеячът излезе да сее.
4 И когато сееше, някои <зърна> паднаха край пътя; и птиците дойдоха и ги изкълваха:
5 Други паднаха на канаристо място, гдето нямаше много пръст, и скоро поникнаха, защото нямаше дълбока почва;
6 а когато изгря слънцето, пригоряха, и понеже нямаха корен, изсъхнаха.
7 И други паднаха между тръните; и тръните пораснаха и ги заглушиха, и не дадоха плод.
8 А другите паднаха на добрата земя, и даваха плод, който растеше и се умножаваше, и принесоха кое тридесет, кое шестдесет и кое сто.
9 И каза: Който има уши да слуша, нека слуша.
10 И когато остана сам, ония, които бяха около Него с дванадесетте, Го попитаха за притчите.
11 И каза им: На вас е дадено <да познаете> тайната на Божието царство; а на ония, външните всичко бива в притчи;
12 тъй щото гледащи да гледат, а да не виждат, и слушащи да слушат, а да не разбират, да не би да се обърнат и да им се прости [греха].
13 И казва им: Не разбирате ли тая притча? а как ще разберете всичките притчи?
14 Сеячът сее словото.
15 А ония край пътя, гдето се сее словото, са тия, които като чуват, Сатана веднага дохожда и грабва посеяното в тях слово.
16 Също и посяното на канаристите места са тия които, като чуват словото, веднага с радост го приемат;
17 нямат, обаче, корен в себе си, но са привременни; после, като настане напаст или гонение, поради словото, веднага се съблазняват.
18 Посяното между тръните са други; те са ония, които са слушали словото;
19 а светските грижи, примамката на богатството, и пожеланията за други работи, като влязат, заглушават словото, и то става безплодно.
20 А посяното на добрата земя са тия, които слушат словото, приемат го, и дават плод, тридесет, шестдесет, и стократно.
21 И каза им: Затова ли се донася светилото, за да го турят под шиника или под леглото? Не за това ли, да го поставят на светилника?
22 Защото няма нещо тайно освен за да се яви; нито е имало <нещо> спотаено, освен за да излезе наяве.
23 Ако има някой уши да слуша, нека слуша.
24 Каза им тоже: Внимавайте в това, което слушате. С каквато мярка мерите ще ви се отмери, и ще ви се прибави.
25 Защото който има, нему ще се даде, а който няма от него ще се отнеме и това което има.
26 И каза: Божието царство е също, както кога човек хвърли семе в земята.
27 и спи и става нощ и ден; а как никне и расте, той не знае.
28 Земята сама по себе си произвежда, първо ствол, после клас, подир това пълно зърно в класа.
29 А когато узрее плодът, на часа изпраща сърпа, защото е настанала жетва.
30 При това каза: На какво да оприличим Божието царство? или с каква притча да го представим?
31 То прилича на синапово зърно, което, когато се посее в земята, е по-малко от всичките семена, които са на земята;
32 но когато се посее, расте, и става по-голямо от всичките злакове, и пуска големи клони, така че под сянката му могат да се подслонят небесните птици.
33 С много такива притчи им прогласяваше словото, според както можеха да слушат.
34 А без притча не им говореше; но насаме обясняваше всичко на Своите ученици.
35 И в същия ден, когато се свечери<, Исус> им казва: Да минем на отвъдната страна.
36 И като оставиха народа, вземат Го със себе си в ладията, тъй както бе; и имаше други ладии с Него.
37 И дига се голяма ветрена буря, и вълните се нахвърляха в ладията, тъй че тя вече се пълнеше с вода.
38 А Той беше на задната част, заспал на възглавница; и те Го събуждат и Му казват: Учителю! нима не Те е грижа че загиваме?
39 И Той, като се събуди, смъмра вятъра и рече на езерото: Мълчи! утихни! И вятърът престана, и настана голяма тишина.
40 И рече им: Защо сте страхливи? Още ли нямате вяра?
41 И голям страх ги обзе; и те си казаха един на друг: Кой е прочее, Тоя, че и вятърът и езерото Му се покоряват?

The Parable of the Sower(A)(B)
4 Again Jesus began to teach by the lake.(C) The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake, while all the people were along the shore at the water’s edge. 2 He taught them many things by parables,(D) and in his teaching said: 3 “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed.(E) 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”(F)
9 Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”(G)
10 When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. 11 He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God(H) has been given to you. But to those on the outside(I) everything is said in parables 12 so that,
“‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving,
and ever hearing but never understanding;
otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’[a]”(J)
13 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable? 14 The farmer sows the word.(K) 15 Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan(L) comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. 16 Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy. 17 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 18 Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; 19 but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth(M) and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. 20 Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.”
A Lamp on a Stand
21 He said to them, “Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand?(N) 22 For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.(O) 23 If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear.”(P)
24 “Consider carefully what you hear,” he continued. “With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more.(Q) 25 Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.”(R)
The Parable of the Growing Seed
26 He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like.(S) A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. 29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”(T)
The Parable of the Mustard Seed(U)
30 Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like,(V) or what parable shall we use to describe it? 31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. 32 Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”
33 With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand.(W) 34 He did not say anything to them without using a parable.(X) But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything.
Jesus Calms the Storm(Y)
35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat.(Z) There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”(AA)
41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
14 The sower soweth the word.
15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
21 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?
22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.
30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
33 And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.
34 But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.
35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
