35 (A)Иосия направи Пасха на Господа в Иерусалим, и заклаха пасхалното агне на четиринайсетия ден от първия месец.
2 И настани свещениците по местата им и ги насърчаваше да служат в дома Господен;
3 (B)и каза на левитите, посветени Господу и наставници на всички израилтяни: поставете светия ковчег в храма, който съгради Соломон, син Давидов, цар Израилев; няма нужда да го носите на рамена; служете сега на Господа, нашия Бог, и на народа Му Израиля;
4 застанете според родовете си, според смените си, както е заповядано от Давида, цар Израилев, и както е заповядано от сина му Соломона,
5 стойте в светилището, според както са разпределени родовете на вашите братя, синовете народни, и според както са разделени левитските родове,
6 (C)заколете пасхалното агне, осветете се и го пригответе за братята си, като постъпвате съгласно Господнето слово чрез Моисея.
7 (D)И подари Иосия на синовете народни, на всички, които бяха там, от дребния добитък агънца и козлета, все за пасхална жертва, на брой трийсет хиляди, и три хиляди вола. Това беше от царския имот.
8 (E)И князете му усърдно даваха принос за народа; а свещениците и левитите: Хелкия, Захария и Иехиил, началници на Божия дом, дадоха на свещениците за жертва пасхална две хиляди и шестстотин (овци, агънца и козлета) и триста вола;
9 Хонания, Шемаия и Натанаил, негови братя, Хашавия, Иеиел и Иозавад, левитски началници, подариха на левитите за пасхална жертва пет хиляди овци и петстотин вола.
10 Тъй се приготви службата, и по царева заповед свещениците застанаха на местата си и левитите според смените си;
11 заклаха пасхалното агне, и свещениците ръсеха с кръвта, която вземаха от ръцете на левитите, а левитите деряха кожите;
12 и разпределиха отреденото за всесъжение, за да го раздадат по отделения на родовете на синовете народни, за принос Господу, както е писано в Моисеевата книга. Също тъй направиха и с воловете.
13 (F)И опекоха на огън пасхалното агне, според устава; и свещените жертви свариха в котли, гърнета и тави, и бързо раздадоха на целия народ,
14 а след това приготвиха за себе си и за свещениците, защото свещениците, синове Ааронови, бяха заети с принасяне всесъжения и тлъстини до нощта; затова левитите готвеха и за себе си и за свещениците, синове Ааронови.
15 (G)И певците, синове Асафови, си оставаха по местата, според наредбите на Давида и Асафа, Емана и Идитуна, царевия ясновидец, и вратарите при всяка врата: нямаше защо да напущат службата си, понеже братята им левити готвеха за тях.
16 Тъй беше наредена цялата служба Господу в оня ден, за да направят Пасха и да принесат всесъжения върху Господния жертвеник, по заповед на цар Иосия.
17 (H)И Израилевите синове, които бяха там, правиха Пасха в онова време и празника на Безквасниците през седем дена.
18 (I)Такава Пасха не беше правена у Израиля от дните на пророк Самуила; и от всички Израилеви царе ни един не бе правил такава Пасха, каквато извърши Иосия, свещениците, левитите и всички иудеи и израилтяни, които бяха там, и жителите иерусалимски.
19 (J)Тая Пасха биде извършена в осемнайсетата година от царуването на Иосия.
20 (K)После всичко това, което стори Иосия в Божия дом (той изгори на огън и чревовещатели, и магьосници, и капища, и идоли, и дъбрави, които имаше в Иерусалим и в Иудея, за да утвърди думите на закона, написани в книгата, която свещеник Хелкия намери в дома Господен; и нямаше подобен нему преди него, който да се обърне към Господа от все сърце и душа и с все сила, съгласно с целия закон Моисеев; не се издигна и след него подобен нему. И бе казал Господ: ще отхвърля и Иуда от лицето Си, както отхвърлих дома Израилев, ще отхвърля и град Иерусалим, който бях избрал, и храма, за който бях казал: там ще бъде името Ми), излезе Нехао, египетски цар, на война към Кархемис, на Ефрат; и Иосия излезе насреща му.
21 Нехао проводи при него пратеници да кажат: какво има между мене и тебе, царю иудейски? Против тебе сега не съм тръгнал, а за там, дето имам война. Бог ми заповяда да бързам; недей се противи на Бога, Който е с мене, за да те не погуби.
22 (L)Но Иосия не отстъпи пред него, а се приготви да се срази с него; и не послуша думите на Нехао, що бяха от Бога, а излезе на бой в долина Мегидо.
23 (M)И стрелнаха стрелците в цар Иосия, и царят каза на слугите си: отведете ме, защото съм тежко ранен.
24 (N)Слугите му го снеха от колесницата, качиха го в друга негова кола и го откараха в Иерусалим. И той умря, и биде погребан в гробниците на отците си. Цяла Иудея и Иерусалим оплакаха Иосия.
25 (O)Иосия биде оплакан и от Иеремия в плачевна песен; него споменуваха всички певци и певици в плачевните си песни, известни и доднес, които предадоха за употреба в Израил; и ето, те са писани в книгата на плачевните песни.

35 При това, Иосия направи пасха Господу в Ерусалим; и на четиринадесетия ден от първия месец заклаха пасхалните <агнета>.

3 И рече на осветените Господу левити, които поучаваха целия Израил: Положете светия ковчег в дома, който построи Израилевият цар Соломон, Давидовият син; няма да <го> носите вече на рамена; сега слугувайте на Господа вашия Бог и на людете Му Израил.
4 Пригответе се според бащините си домове, по отредите си, според предписанието на Израилевия цар Давида, и според предписанието на сина му Соломона;
5 и стойте в светилището, според отделенията на бащините домове на братята си миряните {Еврейски: Синовете на людете.}, и за всяко нека има по един отдел от левитските бащини домове.

13 И опекоха пасхалните <агнета> с огън според наредбата; а светите жертви свариха в котли, в гърнета и в тави, и ги разделиха веднага помежду всичките люде.
14 После приготвиха за себе си и за свещениците; защото свещениците, Аароновите потомци, <се занимаваха> с принасяне всеизгарянията и тлъстините до нощта; затова левитите приготвиха за себе си и за свещениците, Аароновите потомци.
15 И певците, Асафовите потомци, бяха на мястото си, според заповедта на Давида, на Асафа, на Емана и на царския гледач Едутун; и вратарите <пазеха> на всяка порта; нямаше нужда да оставят работата си, защото братята им, левитите, приготвиха за тях.
16 И тъй, цялата Господна служба биде приготвена в същия ден, за да направят пасхата и да принесат всеизгарянията на Господния олтар, според заповедта на цар Иосия.
17 И израилтяните, които се намериха там, правиха в онова време пасхата и празника на безквасните хлябове седем дни.

22 Обаче Иосия не отвърна лицето си от него, но преличи се да воюва против него, и не послуша думите на Нехао, които бяха из Божиите уста, и дойде да се бие в долината Магедон.
23 И стрелците устрелиха цар Иосия; и царят рече на слугите си: Извадете ме от тук, защото съм тежко ранен.
24 И тъй, слугите му го извадиха из колесницата, та го качиха на втората му колесница, и докараха го в Ерусалим; и умря, и биде погребан в гробищата на бащите си. И целият Юда и Ерусалим жалееха за Иосия.
25 Също и Еремия плака за Иосия; и всичките певци и певици до днес напомнюват Иосия в плачовете си, които и направиха това обичай в Израиля; и ето, те са написани в Плача.
26 А останалите дела на Иосия, и добродетелите му <сторени> според предписаното в Господния закон,

35 Moreover Josiah kept a passover unto the Lord in Jerusalem: and they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
2 And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the Lord,
3 And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the Lord, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the Lord your God, and his people Israel,
4 And prepare yourselves by the houses of your fathers, after your courses, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.
5 And stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the families of the fathers of your brethren the people, and after the division of the families of the Levites.
6 So kill the passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare your brethren, that they may do according to the word of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
7 And Josiah gave to the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all for the passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these were of the king's substance.
8 And his princes gave willingly unto the people, to the priests, and to the Levites: Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, rulers of the house of God, gave unto the priests for the passover offerings two thousand and six hundred small cattle and three hundred oxen.
9 Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethaneel, his brethren, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, chief of the Levites, gave unto the Levites for passover offerings five thousand small cattle, and five hundred oxen.
10 So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their courses, according to the king's commandment.
11 And they killed the passover, and the priests sprinkled the blood from their hands, and the Levites flayed them.
12 And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the Lord, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen.
13 And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance: but the other holy offerings sod they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and divided them speedily among all the people.
14 And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.
15 And the singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king's seer; and the porters waited at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.
16 So all the service of the Lord was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the Lord, according to the commandment of king Josiah.
17 And the children of Israel that were present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.
18 And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did all the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
19 In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah was this passover kept.
20 After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Charchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.
21 But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.
22 Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.
23 And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for I am sore wounded.
24 His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.
25 And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and the singing women spake of Josiah in their lamentations to this day, and made them an ordinance in Israel: and, behold, they are written in the lamentations.
26 Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his goodness, according to that which was written in the law of the Lord,
27 And his deeds, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

Josiah Keeps the Passover(A)
35 Now (B)Josiah kept a Passover to the Lord in Jerusalem, and they slaughtered the Passover lambs on the (C)fourteenth day of the first month. 2 And he set the priests in their (D)duties and (E)encouraged them for the service of the house of the Lord. 3 Then he said to the Levites (F)who taught all Israel, who were holy to the Lord: (G)“Put the holy ark (H)in the house which Solomon the son of David, king of Israel, built. (I)It shall no longer be a burden on your shoulders. Now serve the Lord your God and His people Israel. 4 Prepare yourselves (J)according to your fathers’ [a]houses, according to your divisions, following the (K)written instruction of David king of Israel and the (L)written instruction of Solomon his son. 5 And (M)stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the fathers’ houses of your brethren the lay people, and according to the division of the father’s house of the Levites. 6 So slaughter the Passover offerings, (N)consecrate yourselves, and prepare them for your brethren, that they may do according to the word of the Lord by the hand of Moses.”
7 Then Josiah (O)gave the lay people lambs and young goats from the flock, all for Passover offerings for all who were present, to the number of thirty thousand, as well as three thousand cattle; these were from the king’s (P)possessions. 8 And his (Q)leaders gave willingly to the people, to the priests, and to the Levites. 16 So all the service of the Lord was prepared the same day, to keep the Passover and to offer burnt offerings on the altar of the Lord, according to the command of King Josiah. 17 And the children of Israel who were present kept the Passover at that time, and the Feast of (AB)Unleavened Bread for seven days. 18 (AC)There had been no Passover kept in Israel like that since the days of Samuel the prophet; and none of the kings of Israel had kept such a Passover as Josiah kept, with the priests and the Levites, all Judah and Israel who were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 19 In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah this Passover was kept.

25 Jeremiah also (AJ)lamented for (AK)Josiah. And to this day (AL)all the singing men and the singing women speak of Josiah in their lamentations. (AM)They made it a custom in Israel; and indeed they are written in the Laments.
26 Now the rest of the acts of Josiah and his goodness, according to what was written in the Law of the Lord, 27 and his deeds from first to last, indeed they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
