Lord Through the Valleys

Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:10

A favorite book for many believers is Psalms. It’s a book of the Bible we go back to again and again because it reminds us that we can worship the Lord regardless of what season we’re in. Do you find it easy to trust in God when things are going well? It can be much harder to trust when life is difficult. And it’s not that He has changed. Rather, our circumstances have changed. God is still good, gracious, and loving, regardless of what is happening in our lives.

Many of the psalms demonstrate the practice of worshipping God through hardship and suffering. Although some of the psalm writers question what God is doing, they still choose to praise and exalt Him. These psalms show us that seeking and trusting the Lord is the only way through to true healing of a broken spirit.

If you or a loved one is going through a challenging time, seek out words from the book of Psalms to quiet you. Reading this devotional or even studying God’s Word might not take away the pain. But rest comes in knowing God loves you and cares about your situation.
