So you swept away in judgment a huge number of the children of those who had sought to kill off your holy ones’ children (though one child, who was exposed to die, was saved!). You destroyed the rest by overwhelming them with water.
And whereas they thought to kill the babes of the just, one child being cast forth, and saved, to reprove them, thou tookest away a multitude of their children, and destroyedst them all together in a mighty water.
When your enemies were carrying out their resolve to kill the babies of your holy people, there was one child who was abandoned but later rescued. Then you punished your enemies by killing a great number of their own children. You drowned their whole army at one time in the rushing waters.
When they determined to put to death the infants of the holy ones, and when a single boy had been cast forth and then saved, As a reproof you carried off a multitude of their children and made them perish all at once in the mighty water.
After they had decided to slay the infants of your holy ones, and just a single boy had been abandoned and rescued, you in retribution carried off a multitude of their sons and destroyed them all in the raging waters.
When they had resolved to kill the infants of your holy ones, and one child had been abandoned and rescued, you in punishment took away a multitude of their children; and you destroyed them all together by a mighty flood.

When they thought to slay the young children of (the) just men; and when one son was put forth, and delivered, (to reprove them), thou tookest away the multitude of (their) sons, that is, of the first (en)gendered of Egypt, for the leading over of them, and thou lostest, (or destroyedest), them (al)together in strong water. [When they thought to slay the infants of rightwise men; and one son laid out, and delivered, and into the overleading of them, thou took away the multitude of sons, and together them thou spoiledest in strong water.]
