Wisdom 18:22
Imprimir
He overcame divine anger not by bodily strength or by the power of weapons. He subdued the punisher by the word. He reminded him of the solemn pledges that had been made to our ancestors and of the covenants that had been given to them.
And he overcame the disturbance, not by strength of body nor with force of arms, but with a word he subdued him that punished them, alleging the oaths and covenant made with the fathers.
He overcame the bitter difficulty, but not by his own strength or by military force. Instead, he used prayer to stop the punishment, appealing to the promises you solemnly gave to our ancestors.
He overcame the bitterness not by bodily strength, not by force of arms; But by word he overcame the smiter, recalling the sworn covenants with their ancestors.
He overcame the wrath neither by physical strength nor by force of arms; rather, by his word he subdued the avenger, calling to mind the oaths and the covenants given to our ancestors.
He conquered the wrath not by strength of body, not by force of arms, but by his word he subdued the avenger, appealing to the oaths and covenants given to our ancestors.

Forsooth he overcame companies, not by virtue of body, neither by armour, (or arms, or weapons) of power; but he remembered the oaths, and the testament(s) of (the) fathers (or the covenants made with the fathers), and by word he made him(self) subject, that travailed himself. [Forsooth he overcame companies, not in virtue of body, nor in armour of power; but in word him that over-travailed him, he undercast, or he overcast, remembering the oaths of (or made with) (the) fathers, and testament(s) (or covenants).]
