Wisdom 16:17
The most unusual thing about this fire was that it showed that it was stronger than water, which normally quenches any fire. Yet the universe itself comes to the defense of those who do what is right.
And which was wonderful, in water, which extinguisheth all things, the fire had more force: for the world fighteth for the just.
The most amazing thing was that the fire burned all the more fiercely in the water, which usually puts fire out. All the forces of nature fight to defend those who are righteous.
For against all expectation, in water which quenches everything, the fire grew more active; For the universe fights on behalf of the righteous.
For—most incredible of all—in water, which quenches all things, the fire had still greater effect, for the universe defends the righteous.

For—most incredible of all—in the water, which quenches all things, the fire had still greater effect, for the universe defends the righteous.
For why that was wonderful, the fire had more might in the water, that quencheth all things; for why the world was (a)venger of (or for) just [or rightwise] men.
