but because they have entrusted themselves into the hands of lifeless idols, they don’t expect any harm to come from swearing false pledges.
For whilst they trust in idols, which are without life, though they swear amiss, they look not to be hurt.
They tell lies under oath and expect no punishment, because the idols they put their trust in are lifeless.
For as their trust is in lifeless idols, they expect no harm when they have sworn falsely.
Since they place their trust in lifeless idols, they have no fear of punishment in swearing false oaths.
for because they trust in lifeless idols they swear wicked oaths and expect to suffer no harm.
