Are you beating us because they have all died? Go with them, and may we never see a son or daughter of yours!”
So when she reproved the maid for her fault, she answered her, saying: May we never see son, or daughter of thee upon the earth, thou murderer of thy husbands.
Why should you take it out on us? Why don't you go and join your dead husbands? I hope we never see a child of yours!
Why do you beat us? Because your husbands are dead? Go, join them! May we never see son or daughter of yours!”
Just because your husbands are dead is no reason to abuse us. Join them, and may we never live to see any son or daughter of yours!”
