Sirach 6:6
Let those who are at peace with you be many, but let only one in a thousand be your advisor.
Be in peace with many, but let one of a thousand be thy counsellor.
Exchange greetings with many, but take advice from only one person out of a thousand.
Let those who are friendly to you be many, but one in a thousand your confidant.
Be at peace with many people, but allow only one in a thousand to be your adviser.
