He rushed headlong against a nation in battle, and on a hill he destroyed those who opposed him, so that the nations might know how well-equipped he was, because his war was fought in the Lord’s presence. Indeed, he was a follower of the mighty one.
He called upon the most high Sovereign when the enemies assaulted him on every side, and the great and holy God heard him by hailstones of exceeding great force.
The Lord hurled the hail down on the enemy and destroyed them at the pass at Beth Horon, so that the nations would realize how strong Joshua was, since he was fighting as a devoted follower of the Lord.
That rained down upon the hostile army till on the slope he destroyed the foe; That all the doomed nations might know the Lord was watching over his people’s battles. He was indeed a devoted follower of God

in stones of hail of full great virtue. He made assault against the folk enemy, and in the coming down he lost (or destroyed) the adversaries; (so) that (the) heathen men know the might of him, for it is not easy to fight against the Lord; and he (pur)sued (the) mighty men at the back. [in the great stones of hail of full great virtue. A rush he made against the hostile folk; in the going down he destroyed the contrarious; that the Gentiles know the might of him, for against the Lord to fight is not light (or easy); and he followed the mighty men behind.]
