Sirach 43:7
Imprimir
The sign for a feast comes from the moon, a luminous body that wanes when it completes its course.
From the moon is the sign of the festival day, a light that decreaseth in her perfection.
The moon determines the holy days. Its light grows full and then grows dim.
By it we know the sacred seasons and pilgrimage feasts, a light which wanes in its course:
From the moon we are able to calculate when feast days are to be observed; its light wanes when its course has been completed.
