A friend and a companion encounter each other at an opportune moment, but better than both is a woman with her husband.
A friend and companion meeting together in season, but above them both is a wife with her husband.
You can't go wrong with a good friend or neighbor, but an intelligent wife is better than either.
A friend and a neighbor are timely guides, but better than either, a sensible wife.
