Sirach 40:19
Imprimir
Children and building a city establish one’s name, but better than both is a wife who is considered blameless.
Children, and the building of a city shall establish a name, but a blameless wife shall be counted above them both.
Your name can be preserved if you have children or if you establish a city, but finding Wisdom is a better way. Owning livestock and orchards will make you famous, but it is better to have a wife you love.
A child or a city will preserve one’s name, but better than either, finding wisdom. Cattle and orchards make a person flourish; but better than either, a devoted wife.
Children and the founding of a city will preserve one’s name, but better than either is finding wisdom. Cattle and orchards make a man well known, but better than either is a perfect wife.
Children and the building of a city establish one’s name, but better than either is one who finds wisdom. Cattle and orchards make one prosperous; but a blameless wife is accounted better than either.

(The) Building of a city shall confirm a name; and a woman without wem shall be reckoned above this, for why her steadfastness shall stand without end. [The building up of the city shall confirm the name; and over this an undefouled woman shall be counted.]
