Too much wine drunk in the midst of strife and conflict makes for a bitter spirit.
Against him that is niggardly of his bread, the city will murmur, and the testimony of his niggardliness is true.
but if you drink when you are angry and upset, it leads to headaches, embarrassment, and disgrace.
Headache, bitterness, and disgrace is wine drunk amid anger and strife.
However, wine drunk to excess causes bitter feelings and leads to quarrels and retaliation.
Wine drunk to excess leads to bitterness of spirit, to quarrels and stumbling.

Wine drunken much maketh voiding, and ire, and many fallings, or mischiefs. [Wine much drunk stirring, and wrath, and many fallings maketh.]
