Sirach 29:5
Imprimir
Until they receive the loan, they will kiss the hands of those who can help, and they will speak with deference about their neighbor’s money, but when it’s time for repayment, they will put it off, offer weak excuses, and say it is a bad time.
Till they receive, they kiss the hands of the lender, and in promises they humble their voice:
Some people will speak politely, bow, and scrape until they get the loan they want, but when the time comes to pay it back, they'll put it off, say that it's inconvenient, and make a lot of worthless excuses.
Till he gets a loan, he kisses the lender’s hand and speaks softly of his creditor’s money, But at time of payment, delays, makes excuses, and finds fault with the timing.
Until he gets a loan, a man will kiss his neighbor’s hand and speak with respect of his benefactor’s wealth. However, when the repayment of the loan is due, he delays, repays with empty words, and asserts that the times are hard.
One kisses another’s hands until he gets a loan, and is deferential in speaking of his neighbour’s money; but at the time for repayment he delays, and pays back with empty promises, and finds fault with the time.

A man will kiss another’s hands until he gets a loan, and will lower his voice in speaking of his neighbor’s money; but at the time for repayment he will delay, and will pay in words of unconcern, and will find fault with the time.

Till they take (or receive), they kiss the hands of the giver; and in promises they make meek their voice. And in (or at) the time of yielding, he shall ask (for more) time, and he shall speak words of annoy(ance), (or of hurt), and of grudgings, (or of grumblings), and he shall challenge falsely the time, to tarry the paying of (the) debt. [To the time that they take, they kiss the hands of the giver; and in promises they meek their voice. And in time of yielding he shall ask delaying, and he shall speak words of annoy(ance), (or hurt), and of grudgings, and the time he shall plead (for) or complain (about).]
