Sirach 16:11

Even if there was one stiff-necked person, it would be amazing if that one would go unpunished, because mercy and wrath are with him, the Lord who reconciles and who pours out wrath.
So did he with the six hundred thousand footmen, who were gathered together in the hardness of their heart: and if one had been stiffnecked, it is a wonder if he had escaped unpunished:
Even if there had been only one stubborn person, it would have been a miracle if he had escaped punishment. The Lord is merciful, but he can also become angry. He can be overwhelming in his forgiveness or in his anger.
Had there been but one stiff-necked person, it would be a wonder had he gone unpunished. For mercy and anger alike are with him; he remits and forgives, but also pours out wrath.
Even if there had been only one stiff-necked man, it would have been a miracle if he had escaped retribution. For mercy and anger alike belong to the Lord; he shows his might in his forgiveness and also as he pours out his wrath.
Even if there were only one stiff-necked person, it would be a wonder if he remained unpunished. For mercy and wrath are with the Lord; he is mighty to forgive—but he also pours out wrath.

and if one had been hard-nolled, (it is a) wonder if he had been guiltless (or without guilt). For why mercy and ire is with him; prayer is mighty, and shedding out ire. [and if one were reared up the noll, (it is a) wonder if he had been harmless (or without harm). Mercy forsooth and wrath is with him; mighty is the full out orison, and pouring out wrath.]
