The hearts of arrogant people are like decoy birds in a cage; and like spies they will observe your downfall.
Praise not any man before death, for a man is known by his children.
A proud person is a decoy to lure you into danger; like a spy, he will look for your weaknesses.
Like a decoy partridge in a cage, so is the heart of the proud, and like a spy they will pick out the weak spots.
Like a decoy partridge in a cage is the mind of the proud man, and like a spy he looks for your downfall.
Like a decoy partridge in a cage, so is the mind of the proud, and like spies they observe your weakness;

For why as the entrails of stinking things break out, and as a partridge is led into a trap, either (a) net, and as a capret is led into a snare, so and the heart of proud men; and as a beholder [or the for-looker] seeing the fall of his neighbour.
