So you handed over their rulers to be murdered. You stained with blood the beds that were ashamed of their owners’ deceit. You struck down slaves along with princes, even princes upon their thrones.
And who gavest their wives to be made a prey, and their daughters into captivity: and all their spoils to be divided to thy servants, who were zealous with thy zeal: assist, I beseech thee, O Lord God, me a widow.
That is why you let their leaders be killed—put to death on the same bed where they had raped the woman. You destroyed them all, slaves, princes, and rulers on their thrones.
Therefore you handed over their rulers to slaughter; and you handed over to bloodshed the bed in which they lay deceived, the same bed that had felt the shame of their own deceiving. You struck down the slaves together with their masters, and the masters upon their thrones.
As a result, you turned over their rulers to be slaughtered, and you covered with their blood the bed that they had defiled with their treachery. You struck down slaves as well as their princes, even princes as they sat on their thrones.
