Judith 8:23
Our slavery won’t bring us favor. Rather, the Lord our God will turn it into a disgrace.
So Isaac, so Jacob, so Moses, and all that have pleased God, passed through many tribulations, remaining faithful.
We are not going to win the favor of our enemies by surrendering to them now. If we do surrender, the Lord our God will see that we are put to shame.
Our servitude will not work to our advantage, but the Lord our God will turn it to disgrace.
For our slavery will not bring us into favor, but the Lord our God will turn it to dishonor.
For our slavery will not bring us into favour, but the Lord our God will turn it to dishonour.
For our slavery will not bring us into favour, but the Lord our God will turn it to dishonour.
For our slavery will not bring us into favor, but the Lord our God will turn it to dishonor.
For our slavery will not bring us into favor, but the Lord our God will turn it to dishonor.
For our slavery will not bring us into favor, but the Lord our God will turn it to dishonor.
So Isaac, so Jacob, so Moses, and all that pleased the Lord, passed forth faithful(ly) by (or after) many tribulations.
