With ashes on their turbans, they continued to cry out to the Lord with all their strength to look with favor upon the whole house of Israel.
So that even they who offered the holocausts to the Lord, offered the sacrifices to the Lord girded with haircloths, and with ashes upon their head.
They put ashes on their turbans and cried out in prayer to the Lord, begging him to have mercy on the whole nation.
