Judith and her female servant continued to go straight through the valley until an Assyrian patrol met them.
And it came to pass, when she went down the hill, about break of day, that the watchmen of the Assyrians met her and stopped her, saying: Whence comest thou? or whither goest thou?
As the two women were walking through the valley, an Assyrian patrol met them.
As Judith and her maid walked directly across the valley, they encountered the Assyrian patrol.
As the two women were proceeding straight across the valley, they were intercepted by an Assyrian patrol.

[It is done forsooth, when she came down the hill about spring of the day, against-came to her the spies of the Assyrians, and held her, saying, Whence comest thou, or whither goest thou?]
