Since Antiochus came in order to marry the goddess, he and his political advisors came into the temple to take the great wealth as payment for her dowry.
For Antiochus, with his friends, came to the place as though he would marry her, and that he might receive great sums of money under the title of a dowry.
King Antiochus had gone to the temple with some of his most trusted advisers, so that he might marry the goddess and then take away most of the temple treasures as a wedding gift.
On the pretext of marrying the goddess, Antiochus with his Friends had come to the place to get its great treasures as a dowry.
