The king negotiated again with those in Beth-zur. They shared tokens of friendship. Then he went away, mounted an attack against Judas’ men, and was defeated.
Again the king treated with them that were in Bethsura: gave his right hand: took theirs: and went away.
The king made a second attempt to come to terms with the people of Bethzur, and when he had reached an agreement with them, he withdrew his forces. Then he went to attack Judas, but again he was defeated.
The king made a second attempt by negotiating with the people of Beth-zur. After giving them his pledge and receiving theirs, he withdrew
The king negotiated with the inhabitants of Beth-zur for a second time, offering and accepting pledges of friendship. After withdrawing, he then attacked Judas and his men but was defeated.
