1 Maccabees 3:14
He said, “I will make a name for myself and win honor in the kingdom. I will make war on Judas and his companions who reject the king’s command.”
And he said: I will get me a name, and will be glorified in the kingdom, and will overthrow Judas, and those that are with him, that have despised the edict of the king.
Seron said to himself, I will make a reputation for myself throughout the empire by defeating Judas and his men, who have no respect for the king's command.
So he said, “I will make a name for myself and win honor in the kingdom. I will wage war against Judas and his followers, who have despised the king’s command.”
he said, “I will make a name for myself and win great renown in the kingdom if I defeat Judas and his followers who have shown such contempt for the king’s edict.”
he said, ‘I will make a name for myself and win honour in the kingdom. I will make war on Judas and his companions, who scorn the king’s command.’
