1 Maccabees 9:71
Bacchides agreed and kept his word. He swore to Jonathan that he wouldn’t try to harm him for the rest of his life.
And he accepted it willingly, and did according to his words, and swore that he would do him no harm all the days of his life.
Bacchides agreed to do as Jonathan asked and gave him his solemn promise that he would let him live in peace the rest of his life.
He agreed to do as Jonathan asked. He swore an oath to him that he would never try to do him any harm for the rest of his life;
Bacchides agreed to Jonathan’s proposals and swore that he would never again try to cause him harm for the rest of his life.
He agreed, and did as he said; and he swore to Jonathan that he would not try to harm him as long as he lived.
