^(A)“My ^(B)soul ^(C)magnifies the Lord,
^{47     (D)}and my ^(E)spirit rejoices in ^(F)God my Savior,
⁴⁸ for ^(G)he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
    For behold, from now on all generations ^(H)will call me blessed;
⁴⁹ for ^(I)he who is mighty ^(J)has done great things for me,
    and ^(K)holy is his name.
⁵⁰ And ^(L)his mercy is for those who fear him
    from generation to generation.
^51 (M)He has shown strength with his arm;
    ^(N)he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
^52 (O)he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
    ^(P)and exalted those of humble estate;
⁵³ he has filled ^(Q)the hungry with good things,
    and the rich ^(R)he has sent away empty.
⁵⁴ He has ^(S)helped ^(T)his servant Israel,
    ^(U)in remembrance of his mercy,
^55 (V)as he spoke to our fathers,
    ^(W)to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”

^17 (A)Your eyes will behold the king in his beauty;
    ^(B)they will see a land that stretches afar.
^18 (C)Your heart will muse on the terror:
    “Where is he who counted, where is ^(D)he who weighed the tribute?
    Where is ^(E)he who counted the towers?”
^19 (F)You will see no more the insolent people,
    the people ^(G)of an obscure speech that you cannot comprehend,
    stammering in a tongue that you cannot understand.
²⁰ Behold Zion, the city of our appointed feasts!
    ^(H)Your eyes will see Jerusalem,
    an untroubled habitation, an ^(I)immovable tent,
whose stakes will never be plucked up,
    nor will any of its cords be broken.
²¹ But there the Lord in majesty will be for us
    a place of ^(J)broad rivers and streams,
^(K)where no galley with oars can go,
    nor majestic ship can pass.
²² For the Lord is our ^(L)judge; the Lord is our ^(M)lawgiver;
    the Lord is our ^(N)king; he will save us.
