雅各書 5:7-12
耐心等候主
7 所以弟兄們，你們當恆久忍耐，直到主的來臨。看哪，農夫等待著田地裡寶貴的果實，為此恆久忍耐，直到果實得著秋雨春雨。 8 你們也當恆久忍耐，堅固你們的心，因為主的來臨已經近了。
9 弟兄們，不要彼此埋怨，免得你們受審判。看哪，審判者已經站在門口了！
10 弟兄們，你們要把那些奉主名講話的先知當做受苦和忍耐的榜樣。 11 看哪，那些忍耐過的人，我們稱他們有福！你們聽說過約伯的忍耐，也看見了主所賜給他[a]的結局，知道主是充滿憐憫和仁慈的。
實事求是
12 我的弟兄們，最要緊的是：不可起誓。不可指著天起誓，不可指著地起誓，也不可用任何別的誓言起誓。你們說話[b]，是，就說是；不是，就說不是；免得落在審判之下[c]。
