Lamentations 3:19-26

The Lord Will Not Reject Forever

Zayin

19 Remember my affliction and my [a]homelessness, the (A)wormwood and gall.
20 Surely (B)my soul remembers
And is (C)bowed down within me.
21 This I will return to my heart;
Therefore I will (D)wait in hope.

Heth

22 The (E)lovingkindnesses of Yahweh [b]indeed never cease,
(F)For His compassions never fail.
23 They are new (G)every morning;
Great is (H)Your faithfulness.
24 “Yahweh is my (I)portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I (J)wait for Him.”

Teth

25 Yahweh is good to those who (K)hope in Him,
To the soul who (L)seeks Him.
26 It is good that he (M)waits silently
For the salvation of Yahweh.

Lamentations 1:7-15

Zayin

In the days of her affliction and homelessness
(A)Jerusalem remembers all her precious things
That were from the days of old,
When her people fell into the hand of the adversary
And (B)no one helped her.
The adversaries saw her;
They (C)laughed at her [a]ruin.

Heth

Jerusalem sinned (D)greatly;
Therefore (E)she has become an impure thing.
All who honored her despise her
Because they have seen her nakedness;
Even (F)she herself sighs and turns away.

Teth

Her (G)uncleanness was in her skirts;
She did not remember her (H)future.
Therefore she has (I)gone down astonishingly;
(J)She has no comforter.
(K)See, O Yahweh, my affliction,
For the enemy has (L)magnified himself!”

Yodh

10 The adversary has stretched out his hand
Over all her desirable things,
For she has seen the (M)nations enter her sanctuary,
The ones whom You commanded
That they should (N)not enter into Your assembly.

Kaph

11 All her people are sighing, (O)seeking bread;
They have given their desirable things for food
To (P)restore their souls.
“See, O Yahweh, and look,
For I am (Q)despised.”

Lamedh

12 “Is (R)it nothing to all you who pass this way?
Look and see if there is any [b]pain like my [c]pain
Which was dealt severely to me,
Which (S)Yahweh grieved me with on the day of His (T)burning anger.

Mem

13 From on high He sent fire into my (U)bones,
And it dominated them.
He has spread a (V)net for my feet;
He has turned me back;
He has made me (W)desolate,
[d]Faint all day long.

Nun

14 The (X)yoke of my transgressions is bound;
By His hand they are knit together.
They have (Y)come upon my neck;
He has made my strength stumble.
The Lord (Z)has given me into the hands
Of those against whom I am not able to stand.

Samekh

15 The (AA)Lord has rejected all my mighty men
In my midst;
He has called an appointed time against me
To break my (AB)young men;
The Lord has (AC)trodden as in a wine press
The virgin daughter of Judah.

Matthew 20:29-34

Sight for the Blind

29 (A)And as they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Him. 30 And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus *was passing by, cried out, saying, “Lord, (B)have mercy on us, (C)Son of David!” 31 But the crowd sternly told them to be quiet, but they cried out all the more, saying, “Lord, (D)Son of David, have mercy on us!” 32 And Jesus stopped and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” 33 They *said to Him, “Lord, that our eyes be opened.” 34 And moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him.
