Thanksgiving for Rescue from Death.

30 I will (A)exalt You, Lord, for You have (B)lifted me up,
And have not let my (C)enemies rejoice over me.
2 Lord my God,
I (D)cried to You for help, and You (E)healed me.
3 Lord, You have (F)brought up my soul from [a]Sheol;
You have kept me alive, [b]that I would not (G)go down to the pit.
4 (H)Sing praise to the Lord, you (I)His godly ones,
And (J)praise the mention of His holiness.
5 For (K)His anger is but for a moment,
His (L)favor is for a lifetime;
Weeping may (M)last for the night,
But a shout of joy comes in the morning.
6 Now as for me, I said in my prosperity,
“I will (N)never be moved.”
7 Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong;
You (O)hid Your face, I was dismayed.
8 To You, Lord, I called,
And to the Lord I pleaded for compassion:
9 “What gain is there in my blood, if I (P)go down to the pit?
Will the (Q)dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?
The Shunammite Woman
8 Now a day came when Elisha went over to (A)Shunem, where there was a [a]prominent woman, and she urged him to eat [b]food. And so it was, as often as he passed by, that he turned in there to eat [c]food. 9 And she said to her husband, “Behold now, I am aware that this is a holy (B)man of God passing by us repeatedly. 10 Please, let’s (C)make a little walled upper room, and let’s set up a bed for him there, and a table, a chair, and a lampstand; then it shall be, when he comes to us, that he can turn in there.”
11 Now [d]one day he came there, and turned in to the upper room and [e]rested. 12 Then he said to his servant (D)Gehazi, “Call this Shunammite.” And when he had called her, she stood before him. 13 And he said to him, “Say now to her, ‘Behold, you have taken trouble for us with all this [f]care; what can I do for you? [g]Would you like me to speak for you to the king or to the commander of the army?’” But she [h]answered, “I live among my own people.” 14 So he said, “What then is to be done for her?” And Gehazi [i]answered, “It is a fact that she has no son, and her husband is old.” 15 He then said, “Call her.” When he had called her, she stood in the doorway. 16 Then he said, “(E)At this season [j]next year, you are going to embrace a son.” And she said, “No, my lord, you man of God, (F)do not lie to your servant.”
17 Now the woman conceived and gave birth to a son at that season [k]the next year, as Elisha had told her.
The Conflict of Serving Two Masters
14 For we know that the Law is (A)spiritual, but I am (B)fleshly, (C)sold [a](D)into bondage to sin. 15 For (E)I do not understand what I am doing; for I am not practicing (F)what I want to do, but I do the very thing I hate. 16 However, if I do the very thing I do not want to do, I agree with (G)the Law, that the Law is good. 17 But now, (H)no longer am I the one doing it, but sin that dwells in me. 18 For I know that good does not dwell in me, that is, in my (I)flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. 19 For (J)the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want. 20 But if I do the very thing I do not want, (K)I am no longer the one doing it, but sin that dwells in me.
21 I find then (L)the [b]principle that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good. 22 For I joyfully agree with the law of God [c]in (M)the inner person, 23 but I see (N)a different law in [d]the parts of my body waging war against the (O)law of my mind, and making me a prisoner [e]of (P)the law of sin, the law which is in [f]my body’s parts. 24 Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from [g](Q)the body of this (R)death? 25 (S)Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh (T)the law of sin.
