Psalm 29

Praise to God in His Holiness and Majesty

A Psalm of David.

29 Give[a] (A)unto the Lord, O you mighty ones,
Give unto the Lord glory and strength.
[b]Give unto the Lord the glory [c]due to His name;
Worship the Lord in (B)the [d]beauty of holiness.

The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
(C)The God of glory thunders;
The Lord is over many waters.
The voice of the Lord is powerful;
The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

The voice of the Lord breaks (D)the cedars,
Yes, the Lord splinters the cedars of Lebanon.
(E)He makes them also skip like a calf,
Lebanon and (F)Sirion like a young wild ox.
The voice of the Lord [e]divides the flames of fire.

The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;
The Lord shakes the Wilderness of (G)Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord makes the (H)deer give birth,
And strips the forests bare;
And in His temple everyone says, “Glory!”

10 The (I)Lord sat enthroned at the Flood,
And (J)the Lord sits as King forever.
11 (K)The Lord will give strength to His people;
The Lord will bless His people with peace.

Exodus 40:16-38

16 Thus Moses did; according to all that the Lord had commanded him, so he did.

17 And it came to pass in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, that the (A)tabernacle was [a]raised up. 18 So Moses raised up the tabernacle, fastened its sockets, set up its boards, put in its bars, and raised up its pillars. 19 And he spread out the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent on top of it, as the Lord had commanded Moses. 20 He took (B)the Testimony and put it into the ark, inserted the poles through the rings of the ark, and put the mercy seat on top of the ark. 21 And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, (C)hung up the veil of the covering, and partitioned off the ark of the Testimony, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

22 (D)He put the table in the tabernacle of meeting, on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the veil; 23 (E)and he set the bread in order upon it before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses. 24 (F)He put the lampstand in the tabernacle of meeting, across from the table, on the south side of the tabernacle; 25 and (G)he lit the lamps before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses. 26 (H)He put the gold altar in the tabernacle of meeting in front of the veil; 27 (I)and he burned sweet incense on it, as the Lord had commanded Moses. 28 (J)He hung up the screen at the door of the tabernacle. 29 (K)And he put the altar of burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and (L)offered upon it the burnt offering and the grain offering, as the Lord had commanded Moses. 30 (M)He set the laver between the tabernacle of meeting and the altar, and put water there for washing; 31 and Moses, Aaron, and his sons would (N)wash their hands and their feet with water from it. 32 Whenever they went into the tabernacle of meeting, and when they came near the altar, they washed, (O)as the Lord had commanded Moses. 33 (P)And he raised up the court all around the tabernacle and the altar, and hung up the screen of the court gate. So Moses (Q)finished the work.

The Cloud and the Glory(R)

34 (S)Then the (T)cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the (U)glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 35 And Moses (V)was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 36 (W)Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would [b]go onward in all their journeys. 37 But (X)if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey till the day that it was taken up. 38 For (Y)the cloud of the Lord was above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

Acts 16:35-40

Paul Refuses to Depart Secretly

35 And when it was day, the magistrates sent the [a]officers, saying, “Let those men go.”

36 So the keeper of the prison reported these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent to let you go. Now therefore depart, and go in peace.”

37 But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us openly, uncondemned (A)Romans, and have thrown us into prison. And now do they put us out secretly? No indeed! Let them come themselves and get us out.”

38 And the officers told these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Romans. 39 Then they came and pleaded with them and brought them out, and (B)asked them to depart from the city. 40 So they went out of the prison (C)and entered the house of Lydia; and when they had seen the brethren, they encouraged them and departed.
