1 Kings 8:1

The Ark Brought into the House of Yahweh

(A)Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all (B)the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers’ households of the sons of Israel, to King Solomon in Jerusalem, (C)to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh from (D)the city of David, which is Zion.

1 Kings 8:6

Then (A)the priests brought the ark of the covenant of Yahweh (B)to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the Holy of Holies, (C)under the wings of the cherubim.

1 Kings 8:10-11

10 Now it happened that when the priests came out of the holy place, (A)the cloud filled the house of Yahweh, 11 so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of Yahweh filled the house of Yahweh.

1 Kings 8:22-30

Solomon’s Prayer for Israel

22 Then (A)Solomon stood before the altar of Yahweh before all the assembly of Israel and (B)spread out his hands toward heaven. 23 And he said, “O Yahweh, the God of Israel, (C)there is no god like You in heaven above or upon earth beneath, (D)keeping covenant and lovingkindness to Your slaves who walk before You with all their heart, 24 who have kept with Your [a]servant, my father David, that which You have [b]promised him; indeed, You have [c]promised with Your mouth and have fulfilled it by Your hand as it is this day. 25 So now, O Yahweh, the God of Israel, keep with Your [d]servant David my father that which You have [e]promised him, saying, ‘(E)You shall not have a man cut off from before Me who is to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your sons keep their way to walk as you have walked before Me.’ 26 So now, O God of Israel, let Your word truly [f]endure (F)which You have spoken to Your [g]servant, my father David.

27 “But will God truly dwell on the earth? Behold, (G)heaven and the [h]highest heaven cannot [i]contain You; how much less this house which I have built! 28 Yet have regard to the (H)prayer of Your slave and to his supplication, O Yahweh my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which Your slave prays before You today; 29 (I)that Your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, toward (J)the place of which You have said, ‘My name shall be there,’ to listen to the prayer which Your slave shall pray toward this place. 30 (K)And listen to the supplication of Your slave and of Your people Israel, (L)when they pray toward this place; listen in heaven Your dwelling place; listen and (M)forgive.

1 Kings 8:41-43

41 “Also concerning the foreigner who is not of Your people Israel, if he comes from a far country for Your name’s sake 42 (for they will hear of Your great name (A)and Your strong hand, and of Your outstretched arm); so if he comes and prays toward this house, 43 listen in heaven Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You, in order (B)that all the peoples of the earth may know Your name to [a]fear You, as do Your people Israel, and to know that Your name is called upon this house which I have built.

Psalm 84

Blessed Is the Man Who Trusts in You

For the choir director. According to the [a]Gittith. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.

84 How lovely are Your (A)dwelling places,
O Yahweh of hosts!
My (B)soul has longed and even [b]fainted for the courts of Yahweh;
My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the (C)living God.
Even the bird has found a home,
And the swallow a nest for herself, where she sets her young,
At Your (D)altars, O Yahweh of hosts,
(E)My King and my God.
How (F)blessed are those who dwell in Your house!
They are (G)ever praising You. [c]Selah.

How blessed is the man whose (H)strength is in You,
In [d]whose heart are the (I)highways to Zion!
Passing through the valley of [e]Baca they make it a [f]spring;
The (J)early rain also wraps it up with blessings.
They (K)go from strength to strength,
[g]Each one of them (L)appears before God in Zion.

O (M)Yahweh God of hosts, hear my prayer;
Give ear, O (N)God of Jacob! Selah.
See our (O)shield, O God,
And look upon the face of (P)Your anointed.
10 For (Q)better is a day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere.
I would choose to stand at the threshold of the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For Yahweh God is (R)a sun and (S)shield;
Yahweh gives grace and (T)glory;
(U)No good thing does He withhold [h]from those who walk blamelessly.
12 O Yahweh of hosts,
How (V)blessed is the man who trusts in You!

Ephesians 6:10-20

The Armor of God

10 Finally, (A)be strong in the Lord and in (B)the might of His strength. 11 (C)Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the (D)schemes of the devil. 12 For our (E)struggle is not against [a](F)flesh and blood, but (G)against the rulers, against the authorities, against the (H)world forces of this (I)darkness, against the (J)spiritual forces of wickedness in (K)the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up (L)the full armor of God, so that you will be able to (M)resist in (N)the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, (O)having girded your loins with truth, and having (P)put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having (Q)shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. 16 [b]In addition to all, having taken up the (R)shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the (S)flaming arrows of (T)the evil one, 17 also receive (U)the helmet of salvation, and the (V)sword of the Spirit, which is (W)the word of God,

18 (X)praying at all times [c]with all (Y)prayer and petition (Z)in the Spirit, and to this end, (AA)being on the alert with all (AB)perseverance and (AC)petition for all the saints, 19 as well as (AD)on my behalf, that [d]words may be given to me (AE)in the opening of my mouth, to make known with (AF)boldness (AG)the mystery of the gospel— 20 for which I am an (AH)ambassador (AI)in [e]chains—so that [f]in proclaiming it I may speak (AJ)boldly, (AK)as I ought to speak.

John 6:56-69

56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood (A)abides in Me, and I in him. 57 As the (B)living Father (C)sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. 58 This is the bread which (D)came down out of heaven, not as (E)the fathers ate and died. He who eats this bread (F)will live forever.”

Words to the Disciples

59 These things He said (G)in the synagogue as He taught (H)in Capernaum.

60 Therefore many of His (I)disciples, when they heard this said, “(J)This is a difficult statement; who can listen to it?” 61 But Jesus, (K)knowing in Himself that His disciples were grumbling at this, said to them, “Does this (L)cause you to stumble? 62 What then if you see (M)the Son of Man (N)ascending to where He was before? 63 (O)The Spirit is the One who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; (P)the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. 64 But there are (Q)some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus (R)knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and (S)who it was that would [a]betray Him. 65 And He was saying, “For this reason I have (T)said to you, that no one can come to Me unless (U)it has been granted him from the Father.”

Peter Confesses Jesus Is the Christ

66 As a result of this many of His (V)disciples [b](W)went away and were not walking with Him anymore. 67 So Jesus said to (X)the twelve, “Do you also want to go?” 68 (Y)Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have (Z)words of eternal life. 69 And we have believed and have come to know that You are (AA)the Holy One of God.”
