Psalm 130

Yahweh Will Redeem Israel

A Song of Ascents.

130 Out of the (A)depths I called to You, O Yahweh.
O Lord, (B)hear my voice!
Let (C)Your ears be attentive
To the (D)voice of my supplications.
If You should keep iniquities, O Yah,
O Lord, who could (E)stand?
But with You there is (F)forgiveness,
That You may be (G)feared.

I hope for Yahweh, my (H)soul does hope,
And (I)for His word do I wait.
My soul waits for the Lord
More than the watchmen (J)for the morning,
The watchmen for the morning.
O Israel, (K)wait for Yahweh;
For with Yahweh there is (L)lovingkindness,
And with Him is (M)abundant redemption.
And it is He who will (N)redeem Israel
From all his iniquities.

2 Samuel 14:25-33

25 Now in all Israel was no one as handsome as Absalom, so highly praised; (A)from the sole of his foot to the top of his head there was no defect in him. 26 When he (B)shaved the hair of his head (and it was at the end of every year that he shaved it, for it was heavy on him so he shaved it), he weighed the hair of his head at [a]200 shekels by the king’s weight. 27 (C)And to Absalom there were born three sons, and one daughter whose name was (D)Tamar; she was a woman of beautiful appearance.

28 Now Absalom lived two full years in Jerusalem, (E)and did not see the king’s face. 29 Then Absalom sent for Joab, to send him to the king, but he was not willing to come to him. So he sent again a second time, but he was not willing to come. 30 Therefore he said to his servants, “See, (F)Joab’s portion of land is next to mine, and he has barley there; go and set it on fire.” So Absalom’s servants set the portion of land on fire. 31 Then Joab arose, came to Absalom at his house and said to him, “Why have your servants set my portion of land on fire?” 32 And Absalom [b]answered Joab, “Behold, I sent for you, saying, ‘Come here, that I may send you to the king, to say, “Why have I come from Geshur? It would be better for me still to be there.”’ So now, let me see the king’s face, (G)and if there is iniquity in me, let him put me to death.” 33 So Joab came to the king and told him, and he called for Absalom. Thus he came to the king and prostrated himself on his [c]face to the ground before the king, and (H)the king kissed Absalom.

Galatians 6:1-10

Bear One Another’s Burdens

(A)Brothers, even if [a]anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are (B)spiritual, (C)restore such a one (D)in a spirit of gentleness, each of you looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. (E)Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill (F)the law of Christ. For (G)if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But each one must (H)examine his own work, and then he will have reason for (I)boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another. For (J)each one will bear his own load.

(K)And the one who is instructed in (L)the word is to share in all good things with the one who instructs him. (M)Do not be deceived, (N)God is not mocked, for (O)whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. (P)For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap (Q)corruption, but (R)the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. (S)And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we (T)do not grow weary. 10 So then, [b](U)while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the (V)household of (W)the faith.
