20 May the Lord answer you (A)on a day of trouble!
May the (B)name of the (C)God of Jacob [a]protect you!
2 May He send you help (D)from the sanctuary,
And (E)support you from Zion!
3 May He (F)remember all your meal offerings
And [b](G)accept your burnt offering! Selah
4 May He grant you your (H)heart’s desire
And (I)fulfill your whole plan!
5 [c]We will (J)sing for joy over your [d]victory,
And in the name of our God we will (K)set up our banners.
May the Lord (L)fulfill all your desires.
6 Now (M)I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He will (N)answer him from His holy heaven
With the [e](O)saving strength of His right hand.
7 Some praise their chariots and some their (P)horses,
But (Q)we will praise the name of the Lord, our God.
8 They have (R)bowed down and fallen,
But we have (S)risen and stood upright.
9 [f](T)Save, Lord;
May the (U)King answer us on the day we call.
Saul among the Prophets
10 Then (A)Samuel took the flask of oil, poured it on [a]Saul’s head, (B)kissed him, and said, “Has (C)the Lord not anointed you as ruler over (D)His inheritance? 2 When you leave me today, then you will find two men close to (E)Rachel’s tomb in the territory of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say to you, ‘(F)The donkeys which you went to look for have been found. Now behold, your father has stopped talking about the donkeys and is anxious about you, saying, “What am I to do about my son?”’ 3 Then you will go on farther from there, and you will come as far as the [b](G)oak of Tabor, and there three men going up (H)to God at Bethel will meet you: one carrying three young goats, another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a jug of wine. 4 And they will [c]greet you and give you two loaves of bread, which you will accept from their hand. 5 Afterward you will come to [d](I)the hill of God where the Philistine garrison is; and it shall be as soon as you have come there to the city, that you will meet (J)a group of prophets coming down from the high place with harp, tambourine, flute, and a lyre in front of them, and (K)they will be prophesying. 6 Then (L)the Spirit of the Lord will rush upon you, and (M)you will prophesy with them and be changed into a different man. 7 And it shall be when these signs come to you, (N)do for yourself what [e]the occasion requires, because (O)God is with you. 8 And (P)you shall go down ahead of me to Gilgal; and behold, I will be coming down to you to offer burnt offerings and (Q)sacrifice peace offerings. (R)You shall wait seven days until I come to you and inform you of what you should do.”
4 By faith (A)Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he was (B)attested to be righteous, God testifying [a]about his (C)gifts, and through [b]faith, though (D)he is dead, he still speaks. 5 By faith (E)Enoch was taken up so that he would not (F)see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for before he was taken up, he was attested to have been pleasing to God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who (G)comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him. 7 By faith (H)Noah, being (I)warned by God about (J)things not yet seen, [c](K)in reverence (L)prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of (M)the righteousness which is according to faith.
