Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Tell His Wonders for Israel
Psalm 105
1 Praise Adonai, call upon His Name.
Make known His deeds among the peoples.
2 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him—
tell about all His wonders!
3 Glory in His holy Name.
Let the heart of those who seek Adonai rejoice.
4 Seek Adonai and His strength,
seek His face always.
5 Remember His wonders that He has done,
His miracles and the judgments of His mouth,
6 O seed of Abraham, His servant,
O children of Jacob, His chosen ones.
7 He is Adonai our God.
His judgments are in all the earth.
8 He remembers His covenant forever—
the word He commanded for a thousand generations—
9 which He made with Abraham,
and swore to Isaac,
10 and confirmed to Jacob as a decree,
to Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11 saying, “To you I give the land of Canaan,
the portion of your inheritance.”
37 Then He brought them out with silver and gold,
and no one among His tribes faltered.
38 Egypt was glad when they left—
for dread of them had fallen on them.
39 He spread a cloud as a covering
and fire to give light at night.
40 They asked, and He brought quail,
and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.[a]
41 He opened a rock, and waters gushed out,
flowed as a river in dry places.
42 For He remembered His holy word
to Abraham His servant.
43 So He brought forth His people with joy,
His chosen ones with singing.
44 He gave them the lands of the nations,
so they inherited the labor of the peoples
45 so that they might keep His statutes
and observe His laws.
Halleluyah!
Birth of Isaac
21 Then Adonai visited Sarah just as He had said, and Adonai did for Sarah just as He had spoken. 2 So Sarah became pregnant and gave birth to a son for Abraham in his old age, at the appointed time that God had told him. 3 Abraham named his son who was born to him—whom Sarah bore for him—Isaac. 4 Then Abraham circumcised Isaac, his eight-day-old son, just as God had commanded him. 5 Abraham was 100 years old when Isaac his son was born to him.
6 So Sarah said, “God has made laughter for me! Everyone who hears will laugh with me.” 7 She also said, “Who would have said to Abraham, ‘Sarah has nursed children’? For I have given birth to a son in his old age!”
8 But regarding the Son He says,
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,
and a scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your Kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your companions.”[a]
10 And,
“In the beginning, Adonai,
You laid the foundation of the earth,
and the heavens are the works of Your hands.
11 They shall pass away, but You remain.
And they will all wear out like clothing.[b]
12 And like a robe You will roll them up,
and like clothing they will be changed;
but You are the same,
and Your years shall never end.”[c]
