Psalm 119:105-112

105 [a]Your word is a lamp for my feet[b]
and a light to my path.
106 With a solemn vow I have sworn[c]
to obey the judgments of your righteousness.
107 I have been afflicted beyond measure;
Lord, let me live in accord with your word.
108 Receive, O Lord, the homage my lips offer you,
and instruct me about your judgments.
109 Even though I continually take my life in my hands,[d]
I do not neglect your law.
110 The wicked seek to entrap me,
but I have not strayed from your commands.
111 [e]Your statutes are my everlasting heritage;
they are the very joy of my heart.
112 I have set my heart on keeping your decrees,
    even to the end.

Isaiah 2:1-4

The Internal Decadence of a People

Chapter 2

Jerusalem, the Religious Center.[a] This is the vision seen by Isaiah, the son of Amoz, concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

In days to come
the mountain of the Lord’s house
will be established as the highest mountain
and raised high above the hills.
Then all the nations will stream toward it;
many peoples will come to it and say,
“Come, let us ascend the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of the God of Jacob,
so that he may teach us his ways
and we may walk in his paths.”
For from Zion will go forth instruction,
and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
He will judge between the nations
and serve as an arbiter for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks.
One nation will not lift up a sword against another,
nor will they ever again be trained for war.

John 12:44-50

44 The Choice To Believe in Jesus.[a] Then Jesus cried out,

“Whoever believes in me
believes not only in me
but in him who sent me.
45 And whoever sees me
sees the one who sent me.
46 I have come into the world as light
so that everyone who believes in me
may not have to remain in darkness.
47 [b]“But if anyone listens to my words
and fails to observe them,
I will not pass judgment on him,
for I did not come to judge the world
but to save the world.
48 Anyone who rejects me
and does not accept my words
already has a judge.
On the last day,
the word that I have spoken
will serve as his judge.
49 “For I have not spoken on my own,
but the Father who sent me
has himself given me command
about what I am to say
and how I am to speak.
50 I know that his commandment
is eternal life.
Therefore, what I speak
is what the Father has told me to say.”
