Exodus 12:1-4

The Passover Lamb

12 Now Adonai spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying, “This month will mark the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year for you. Tell all the congregation of Israel that on the tenth day of this month, each man is to take a lamb for his family one lamb for the household. But if the household is too small for a lamb, then he and his nearest neighbor are to take one according to the number of the people. According to each person eating, you are to make your count for the lamb.

Exodus 12:5-10

Your lamb is to be without blemish, a year old male.[a] You may take it from the sheep or from the goats. You must watch over it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel is to slaughter it at twilight. [b] They are to take the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the crossbeam of the houses where they will eat it. They are to eat the meat that night, roasted over a fire. With matzot and bitter herbs[c] they are to eat it. Do not eat any of it raw or boiled with water, but only roasted with fire—its head with its legs and its innards. 10 So let nothing of it remain until the morning. Whatever remains until the morning you are to burn with fire.

Exodus 12:11-14

11 Also you are to eat it this way: with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet and your staff in your hand. You are to eat it in haste. It is Adonai’s Passover.

12 “For I will go through the land of Egypt on that night and strike down every firstborn, both men and animals, and I will execute judgments against all the gods of Egypt. I am Adonai. 13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are.[a] When I see the blood, I will pass over you. So there will be no plague among you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

14 “This day is to be a memorial for you.[b] You are to keep it as a feast to Adonai. Throughout your generations you are to keep it as an eternal ordinance.

Psalm 116:1-2

Lift Up the Cup of Salvation

Psalm 116

I love Adonai,
for He hears my voice, my cries.
Because He has turned His ear to me,
I will call on Him all my days.

Psalm 116:12-19

12 How can I repay Adonai
for all His bounties to me?
13 I will lift up the cup of salvation,
and call on the Name of Adonai.
14 I will fulfill my vows to Adonai
in the presence of all His people.
15 Precious in the sight of Adonai
is the death of His kedoshim.
16 O Adonai! Surely I am Your servant.
I am Your servant,
the son of Your maidservant.
You have freed me from my bonds.
17 To You I will offer a sacrifice of praise,
and will call on the Name of Adonai.
18 I will fulfill my vows to Adonai
in the presence of all His people,
19 in the courts of the House of Adonai,
in your midst, O Jerusalem. Halleluyah!

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you—that the Lord Yeshua, on the night He was betrayed, took matzah; [a] 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said,[b] “This is My body, which is for you. Do this in memory of Me.” 25 In the same way, He also took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant[c] in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in memory of Me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

John 13:1-17

Modeling Servanthood

13 Now it was just before the feast of Passover. Yeshua knew that His hour had come to depart from this world to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them until the end.[a]

While the seder meal was happening, the devil had already put in the heart of Judah from Kriot that he should hand over Yeshua. Yeshua knew that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was returning to God. So He gets up from the meal and lays aside His outer garment; and taking a towel, He wrapped it around His waist. Then He pours water into a basin. He began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel wrapped around Him.

Then He comes to Simon Peter, who says to Him, “Master, are You going to wash my feet?”

Yeshua responded, “You don’t know what I am doing now, but you will understand after these things.”

Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!”

Yeshua answered him, “If I don’t wash you, you have no part with Me.”

Simon Peter said to Him, “Master, then not only my feet, but also my hands and my head!”

10 Yeshua said to him, “He who has bathed has no need to wash, except the feet; he is completely clean. And you all are clean, though not every one.” 11 He knew who was betraying Him; for this reason, He said, “Not all of you are clean.”

12 So after He had washed their feet and put His robe back on and reclined again, He said to them, “Do you understand what I have done for you? 13 You call Me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Master’—and rightly you say, for I am. 14 So if I, your Master and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash each other’s feet. 15 I have given you an example—you should do for each other what I have done for you.

16 “Amen, amen I tell you, a servant isn’t greater than his master, and the one who is sent isn’t greater than the one who sent him. 17 If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them!”

John 13:31-35

Leaving a Legacy of Love

31 Then when Judah had gone out, Yeshua said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him! 32 If God is glorified in Him,[a] God will glorify Him in Himself, and will glorify Him at once. 33 Little children, I am with you only a little longer. You will search for Me; and just as I told the Judean leaders, so I say to you now, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come.’

34 “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so also you must love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
