Psalm 15

Psalm 15[a]

The Righteous: Guests of God

A psalm of David.

Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may abide on your holy mountain?[b]
[c]The one who leads a blameless life
    and does what is right,
who speaks the truth from the heart
    and does not slander anyone,
who does not harm a friend
and does not scorn a neighbor,
who looks with disdain on the wicked
but honors those who fear the Lord,
who abides by his oath,
    no matter what the cost,
who does not charge interest on a loan
and refuses to accept a bribe against the innocent.
Whoever does these things
    will never fall.

Deuteronomy 16:18-20

18 Justice.[a]Appoint judges and officials for each of your tribes in every town that the Lord, your God, gives you. They are to judge the people fairly. 19 Do not pervert justice nor show partiality. Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous. 20 Seek justice, so that you may live in and inherit the land that the Lord, your God, has given you.

1 Peter 3:8-12

Mutual Love.[a] Finally, all of you should be united in spirit, sympathetic, filled with love for one another, compassionate, and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or abuse with abuse. On the contrary, repay with a blessing. This is what you were called to do, so that you might inherit a blessing. 10 For:

“If anyone wishes to love life
    and to experience good days,
he must restrain his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
11 He must turn away from evil and do good,
    seek peace and pursue it.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer.
However, the face of the Lord
is set against those who do evil.”
