Psalm 80:1-2

Restore Us, O God

To the choirmaster: according to (A)Lilies. A Testimony. Of (B)Asaph, a Psalm.

80 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel,
    you who lead (C)Joseph like (D)a flock.
You who are (E)enthroned upon the cherubim, (F)shine forth.
    Before (G)Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh,
(H)stir up your might
    and (I)come to save us!

Psalm 80:8-19

You brought (A)a vine out of Egypt;
    you (B)drove out the nations and planted it.
You (C)cleared the ground for it;
    it took deep root and filled the land.
10 The mountains were covered with its shade,
    the mighty cedars with its branches.
11 It sent out its branches to (D)the sea
    and its shoots to (E)the River.[a]
12 Why then have you (F)broken down its walls,
    so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit?
13 (G)The boar from the forest ravages it,
    and all that move in the field feed on it.

14 Turn again, O God of hosts!
    (H)Look down from heaven, and see;
have regard for this vine,
15     the stock that your right hand planted,
    and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.
16 They have (I)burned it with fire; they have (J)cut it down;
    may they perish at (K)the rebuke of your face!
17 But (L)let your hand be on the man of your right hand,
    the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself!
18 Then we shall not turn back from you;
    (M)give us life, and we will call upon your name!

19 (N)Restore us, O Lord God of hosts!
    Let your face shine, that we may be saved!

Isaiah 3:18-4:6

18 In that day the Lord will take away (A)the finery of the anklets, the (B)headbands, and the (C)crescents; 19 the pendants, the bracelets, and the scarves; 20 the (D)headdresses, the armlets, the sashes, the perfume boxes, and the amulets; 21 the signet rings and (E)nose rings; 22 the (F)festal robes, the mantles, the cloaks, and the handbags; 23 the mirrors, the linen garments, the turbans, and the veils.

24 Instead of (G)perfume there will be rottenness;
    and instead of a (H)belt, a rope;
and instead of (I)well-set hair, (J)baldness;
    and instead of a rich robe, a (K)skirt of sackcloth;
    and (L)branding instead of beauty.
25 Your men shall fall by the sword
    and your mighty men in battle.
26 And (M)her gates shall lament and mourn;
    empty, she shall (N)sit on the ground.

(O)And seven women (P)shall take hold of (Q)one man in that day, saying, “We will eat our own bread and wear our own clothes, only let us be called by your name; (R)take away our reproach.”

The Branch of the Lord Glorified

In that day (S)the branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and (T)the fruit of the land shall be the pride and honor of the survivors of Israel. (U)And he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called (V)holy, everyone who has (W)been recorded for life in Jerusalem, when (X)the Lord shall have washed away the filth of (Y)the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodstains of Jerusalem from its midst by a spirit of judgment and by (Z)a spirit of burning.[a] Then the Lord will create over the whole site of Mount Zion and over her assemblies (AA)a cloud by day, and smoke and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory there will be (AB)a canopy. (AC)There will be a (AD)booth for shade by day from the heat, and (AE)for a refuge and a shelter from the storm and rain.

Matthew 24:15-27

The Abomination of Desolation

15 “So when you see the abomination of desolation (A)spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in (B)the holy place ((C)let the reader understand), 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 (D)Let the one who is on (E)the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, 18 and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. 19 And (F)alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 21 For then there will be (G)great tribulation, (H)such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. 22 And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for (I)the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. 23 (J)Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For (K)false christs and (L)false prophets will arise and (M)perform great signs and wonders, (N)so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, (O)I have told you beforehand. 26 So, if they say to you, ‘Look, (P)he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 (Q)For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be (R)the coming of the Son of Man.
